Role Description This is a full time, on-site Oncologist role based in Mumbai at India Oncology Healing Center (IOHC). The Oncologist will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose and stage cancers, and develop individualized treatment plans using chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and other appropriate modalities.
Responsibilities include managing outpatient and inpatient oncology care, prescribing and monitoring treatments, handling treatment-related complications, and providing supportive and palliative care where needed. The role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, pharmacists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists, to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. The Oncologist will also counsel patients and families, participate in tumor boards, contribute to clinical protocols and quality initiatives,
maintain accurate medical records, and stay current with advances in oncology through continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong clinical oncology expertise, including experience in diagnosing, staging, and managing a wide range of solid and hematologic malignancies.
- Candidates should possess skills in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive oncology care, including safe administration, monitoring, and complication management.
- Candidates should possess excellent patient-focused communication and counseling skills, including the ability to explain complex medical information clearly and provide empathetic support to patients and families.
- Candidates should possess abilities in multidisciplinary collaboration, teamwork, and coordination with nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, and allied health professionals.
- Candidates should possess strong clinical judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with attention to quality, safety, and ethical standards of care.
- Candidates should possess competence in maintaining detailed medical documentation, using electronic medical records, and following evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- MD/DNB in Medical Oncology or MD in Internal Medicine with formal training and recognized experience in Oncology; valid medical registration in India is required.
- Experience working in an oncology center or tertiary care hospital, familiarity with tumor boards, and participation in clinical audits or research are highly beneficial.
