About Projectitude

Projectitude is an academic writing and assignment help service working with university students across the UK, Australia, US, Canada, New Zealand, and UAE. We're expanding our specialist engineering panel and looking for freelance mechanical engineers with genuine subject-matter depth.

The role

We have an incoming project on kinematic and dynamic analysis of a six-bar linkage mechanism. It's a 40-page technical report requiring position, velocity, and acceleration analysis by three independent methods (graphical, analytical, computational), plus energetic force analysis and a balancing strategy. A worked reference template is provided, but every calculation, diagram, and simulation output must be generated fresh for the specific parameters supplied.

If this project fits, we'll want to keep you on the panel for similar mechanical engineering assignments as they come in.

Core skills required (all of these, not most)

- Planar kinematics of linkages: Grashof criterion, four-bar and slider-crank analysis, coupler curves
- Graphical vector methods: velocity and acceleration polygons with normal/tangential decomposition, Coriolis terms
- Instantaneous centres and Kennedy's theorem, systematic Kennedy's Circle construction
- Vector-loop analytical method using Euler's identity and Assur-Artobolevsky decomposition, with symbolic differentiation for velocity and acceleration functions
- Newton-Euler dynamic force analysis: free-body diagrams per link, matrix formulation, solving systems of equilibrium equations
- Balancing of mechanisms: shaking force, shaking moment, counterweight design

Software you must be able to use

- Working Model 2D (mandatory for this project, Windows-only)
- A symbolic math tool: Maple, MATLAB with symbolic toolbox, or Python with SymPy
- A matrix solver: MATLAB, NumPy, or Excel MINVERSE/MMULT
- MS Word with equation editor, cross-references, auto-generated table of contents

Writing requirements

- Australian or British English, third-person academic engineering register
- IEEE citation style
- SI units, consistent notation, proper equation formatting
- Ability to produce a 35 to 50 page technical report to a supplied section structure

Ideal background

- Mechanical engineering postgraduate, PhD candidate, or practising engineer with a machine dynamics / theory of machines subject in your coursework
- Prior experience with technical reporting for university-level assignments is a plus but not required if the engineering skill is solid
- Comfortable with binary-marked rubrics where missing any listed requirement forfeits the full section

Engagement and payment

- Freelance, project-based
- Rate discussed on application, based on your CV and a short technical screen
- Payment on delivery, standard international payment methods (Wise, bank transfer, or as agreed)
- Confidentiality expected on all client work

How to apply

Email [email protected] with:

1. Your CV, with your mech eng coursework or degree specialisation clearly marked
2. A short note (a paragraph is fine) describing the most complex kinematics or machine dynamics project you have done, and which software you used
3. Your availability over the next 7 to 10 days
4. Your indicative rate for a 40-page technical report of this complexity

Shortlisted candidates will be sent a short technical screen (two or three questions on Kennedy's theorem, Grashof criterion, and Working Model 2D) before we assign any paid work.
- LinkedIn applications, comments, or DMs will not be reviewed. Please use email.
