About the Role

Batangarh is looking for a Freelance Investigative Journalist to uncover important stories through ground reporting, research, credible sources and fact-checking.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct investigative research on newsworthy and public-interest issues.

Perform ground reporting and collect facts, documents and evidence.

Build and maintain credible local sources and contacts.

Conduct interviews and verify information from multiple sources.

Investigate leads related to scams, corruption, irregularities and public issues.

Prepare well-researched reports and story briefs for the editorial team.

Maintain source confidentiality and follow responsible journalism practices.

Requirements

Experience in investigative/ground/news reporting preferred.

Strong research,



fact-checking and interviewing skills.

Good Hindi communication and writing skills.

Strong local knowledge and source network in MP, Rajasthan, UP or Delhi.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
