About the Role

Aiva, a manufacturer and exporter of food products including Dals, Spices, Poha, Edible Oils, Snacks, Flours, and other packaged food products, is seeking an experienced Food Safety, Quality Control & QA Manager for Rajkot facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards across food safety, product quality, packaging quality, case/carton quality, vendor quality, documentation, and order coordination.

This is a hands-on position requiring daily on-site presence. The candidate should be comfortable working directly with production, packaging, warehouse, purchasing, and vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities

Food Safety & Quality Assurance

- Ensure all products meet Aiva’s established food safety and quality standards.
- Inspect incoming raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, finished products, and outgoing shipments.
- Monitor quality throughout production, processing, packing, storage, and dispatch.
- Identify quality issues, investigate root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain proper QA/QC records, inspection reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor hygiene, sanitation, housekeeping, pest-control practices, and food-handling procedures throughout the facility.
- Support compliance with applicable food safety regulations, customer requirements, and export quality standards.
- Coordinate product sampling and laboratory testing.
- Manage non-conforming products and materials and ensure appropriate corrective action.

Product Quality

- Establish and monitor quality specifications for Dals, Spices, Poha, Oils, Snacks, Flours, and other Aiva products.
- Check products for appearance, color, texture, aroma, taste, moisture, foreign material, contamination, and other applicable quality parameters.




- Ensure consistency between production batches.
- Approve or reject products based on established quality standards.
- Work closely with production teams to reduce defects, rework, wastage, and customer complaints.

Packaging & Case Quality
- Inspect pouches, bags, labels, printed packaging, cartons/cases, sealing, coding, and finished packaging.
- Verify correct product name, SKU, weight, lot/batch information, manufacturing details, expiry/best-before information, barcodes, and other required labeling.
- Ensure packaging materials meet approved specifications before use.
- Monitor sealing integrity, package appearance, carton strength, and overall finished-case quality.
- Prevent incorrect packaging, labeling, or product mix-ups before shipment.

Vendor & Order Management
- Coordinate with packaging, raw-material, and other approved vendors regarding purchase requirements and quality expectations.
- Coordinate purchase/order status with internal teams and vendors.
- Track open orders, expected delivery dates, shortages, rejections, replacements, and pending items.

Reporting & Excel The candidate must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills and be comfortable managing large amounts of operational and quality data.

Required Excel capabilities include

- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- Data sorting and filtering
- Formulas and data validation

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Food Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Food Inspection, or a closely related position.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or food processing facility is strongly preferred.
- Experience with products such as pulses/dals, spices, grains, flours, snacks, oils, or packaged foods is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product and packaging defects.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
