About the Role
We are looking for a Finance & Compliance Accountant to join Outposter South Asia Private Limited. This role is responsible for managing the finance operations of the India entity, including bookkeeping, statutory compliance, taxation, payroll compliance, treasury management, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Group Finance team and external Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary firms to ensure compliance with Indian statutory and regulatory requirements while supporting global finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Maintain the company's books of accounts using Xero.
- Perform monthly closing activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports and submit them according to the Group Finance reporting calendar.
- Assist in preparing annual financial statements under Indian GAAP for statutory audits.
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and manage Input Tax Credit reconciliations.
- Handle GST-related filings, including Letters of Undertaking (LUT).
- Manage TDS deductions, deposits, quarterly returns, advance tax payments, and income tax support.
- Maintain transfer pricing documentation and coordinate Form 3CEB certification with external consultants.
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain statutory registers and support ROC/MCA filings.
- Coordinate with external Company Secretaries for statutory certifications.
- Prepare FEMA-related returns, including the annual FLA return, and support FDI compliance requirements.
- Support PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and Labour Welfare Fund registrations and ongoing statutory compliance.
Treasury & Intercompany Finance
- Process vendor payments and manage local treasury activities.
- Monitor cash flow requirements for the India entity.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions with group entities and highlight any transfer pricing or FEMA implications.
Audit & External Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for statutory and tax auditors.
- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with external CA and CS firms for statutory audits, tax audits, transfer pricing certifications,
and secretarial compliance.
Group Finance Collaboration
- Participate in daily finance stand-up meetings.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end reporting and billing deadlines.
- Support finance process improvements and transition activities.
- Align with group finance policies, reporting standards, and chart of accounts.
Required Skills & Experience
- CA Inter (Semi-qualified) or Bachelor's/Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in accounting, GST, TDS, direct taxation, and bookkeeping.
- Practical experience in preparing financial statements and monthly management reports.
- Experience handling payroll statutory compliance and statutory filings.
- Working knowledge of FEMA compliance, ROC filings, and company secretarial processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Robust analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with global finance teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience working with multinational or foreign-owned subsidiaries in India.
- Experience managing intercompany transactions.
- Previous experience in a CA firm or outsourced accounting environment.
- Familiarity with international finance reporting and compliance requirements.
