Role Description The Fiber Engineer role at Yastel Networks Pvt Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Kanayannur. This role involves planning, designing, and implementing fiber routes for outside plant networks, including detailed surveys, route feasibility assessments, and preparing technical documentation.

The Fiber

Engineer will oversee fiber installation and splicing activities, coordinate with field teams and contractors, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and industry standards. Daily tasks include troubleshooting fiber-related issues, performing optical testing, maintaining network diagrams, and updating project status reports.



The role also requires close collaboration with project managers and cross-functional teams to meet deployment timelines and support ongoing network upgrades.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong outside plant and network design skills, including experience with OSP planning, route design, and network topology.
- Candidates should possess fiber and optical fiber expertise, including installation, splicing, testing (OTDR, power meter), and fault isolation.
- Candidates should possess project management capabilities, including scheduling, resource coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing network issues and optimizing fiber performance.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with relevant design and mapping tools (e.g., GIS, CAD or similar), and basic knowledge of telecom standards and safety practices.
- Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with field teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- A diploma or degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred; prior experience in fiber deployment or telecom infrastructure is an advantage.
