Position Summary

Ghar Soaps is looking for a seasoned Factory Manager with 12 to 15 years of hands-on experience to lead plant setup, vertical startup, operational scaling, and day-to-day manufacturing at our Bengaluru facility. The ideal candidate brings strong project management expertise to execute greenfield/brownfield plant projects, deep knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), contract labor management, regulatory compliance, and local stakeholder relations to manage a multidisciplinary team effectively.

Experience in FMCG- Personal care products /D2C brands backend manufacturing essential .

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Operational Excellence

· Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless batching, saponification, molding, and packaging execution.

· Maintain strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety compliance across all production lines.

· Implement Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies to minimize line downtime and eliminate process waste.

2.Project Execution & Vertical Startup

· Lead capital expansion projects, machinery integration, and infrastructure development from procurement through commissioning.

· Drive Vertical Startup (VSU) methodologies to achieve rapid ramp-up to full production capacity with zero design-induced quality or safety issues post-commissioning.

· Optimize plant layout, equipment efficiency, and utility consumption (heating, water, power) in coordination with engineering teams.

· Drive process automation and select filling/packaging machinery suited for specialized personal care formulations.

3.Statutory,Legal & Local Bodies Management

· Ensure 100% compliance with all statutory, environmental, and factory regulations, including BIS, PCB, Inspectorate of Factories, and Municipal approvals.

· Act as the key corporate representative for liaising with local government bodies, panchayats, labor departments, and regulatory authorities.

· Manage Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives,



fostering strong community relations and sustainable local development programs around the plant site.

4.Contract Labour Management & Industrial Relations

· Oversee third-party manpower agencies, ensuring full legal compliance regarding minimum wages, PF/ESI contributions, work hours, and safety protocols.

· Maintain harmonious industrial relations, managing contract workforce deployment, productivity benchmarking, and grievance resolution.

5.Quality Assurance & Yield Management

· Enforce robust Quality Management Systems (QMS) across raw material receiving, in-process parameters, and finished goods testing.

· Monitor moisture barrier integrity, product yield, and batch consistency to eliminate off-spec production.

6.Supply Chain & Cost Optimization

· Coordinate with central procurement to manage raw material stock levels, preventing stockouts without inflating inventory holding costs.

· Monitor Cost of Conversion (COC) drivers by keeping variable/fixed overheads controlled while maximizing output per shift.

· Manage warehouse integration, inbound/outbound logistics dispatch schedules, and bin-level inventory accuracy.

7.Leadership & Team Management

· Direct, mentor, and build a high-performing team across production, quality control, maintenance, and safety functions.

· Foster a performance-driven culture with structured shift targets, continuous capability development, and clear cross-functional communication.

Key Qualifications & Skills

· Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Production Engineering. MBA in Operations/Supply Chain Management is a plus.

· Experience: 12–15 years of core manufacturing experience in personal care, FMCG, or soap/cosmetics formulation plants, with at least 3–5 years leading plant operations.

· Technical Expertise: Demonstrated track record of project execution, vertical plant startups, equipment commissioning, contract labor management, and statutory regulatory compliance.

· Soft Skills: Robust local stakeholder liaisoning, negotiation, cross-functional leadership, conflict resolution, and executive communication skills.
