Role & responsibilities
1. International Audit &
- Assurance
- Strong foundation in Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting, with a keen interest in building a career in International Audit &
- Assurance.
- Good understanding of audit methodology, audit planning, risk assessment, materiality and audit procedures.
- Ability to understand engagement-specific audit instructions, scope, risks and deliverables and effectively execute assigned audit procedures.
- Good understanding of substantive testing, test of details, analytical procedures, audit sampling, confirmations and reconciliations.
- Ability to obtain, evaluate and appropriately document sufficient and appropriate audit evidence.
- Willingness to work on international and group audit engagements and collaborate with overseas engagement teams.
1. Financial Reporting &
- Accounting Standards
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Good knowledge of Ind AS / Indian GAAP, with a strong willingness to develop knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, Dutch GAAP and other international reporting frameworks.
- Ability to understand accounting treatments and identify transactions or matters requiring further evaluation.
- Ability to assist in the preparation of financial statements, disclosures, lead schedules and supporting reconciliations.
- Willingness to research and develop an understanding of accounting and reporting requirements applicable to international clients.
1. Audit Quality &
- Professional Judgment
- Strong commitment to audit quality, accuracy, professional standards and timely delivery.
- Demonstrate professional skepticism when evaluating audit evidence and management explanations.
- Good analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills appropriate to the level.
- Ability to identify inconsistencies, unusual transactions,
audit exceptions and potential financial reporting issues.
- Ability to appropriately escalate significant, complex or judgmental matters to senior team members.
- Strong understanding of skilled ethics, independence, confidentiality and integrity.
1. Audit Documentation
- Ability to prepare clear, complete and well-structured audit working papers.
- Ability to appropriately document procedures performed, evidence obtained and conclusions reached.
- Good understanding of cross-referencing, indexing and audit trail requirements.
- Ability to respond effectively to review comments and continuously improve the quality of audit documentation.
1. International Client Communication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good command of professional English.
- Ability to draft clear, concise and professional business emails.
- Ability to communicate audit requirements and follow up professionally with overseas clients.
- Comfortable participating in virtual meetings and discussions with international clients and engagement teams.
- Ability to communicate audit findings, information requirements and outstanding matters clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work effectively across different countries, cultures and time zones.
1. Technology &
- Data Skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyse financial data and work efficiently with audit schedules and large volumes of information.
- Good working knowledge of Excel for data analysis, reconciliations and audit testing.
- Exposure to CaseWare or other audit documentation / engagement management tools will be an advantage.
- Willingness to adopt audit technology, data analytics and automation tools to improve audit efficiency and quality.
