About the Role

We are looking for an experienced ETL Data Engineer with strong expertise in DBT (Data Build Tool) to design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and transformation workflows. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ETL development, data warehousing, SQL, and cloud-based data platforms, along with a strong understanding of modern data engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using DBT.
- Build and optimize data transformation models following DBT best practices.
- Develop and maintain SQL-based data models, staging layers, and marts.
- Integrate data from multiple sources into enterprise data warehouses.
- Ensure data quality through testing, validation, and monitoring within DBT.
- Optimize pipeline performance and troubleshoot data processing issues.
- Collaborate with data analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable datasets.
- Implement version control, CI/CD, and deployment processes for DBT projects.
- Create technical documentation for data models, transformations, and workflows.
- Participate in code reviews and promote data engineering best practices.

Required Skills

- 7+ years of experience in ETL/Data Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool).




- Advanced proficiency in SQL and complex query optimization.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data transformation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Dimensional Modeling).
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Databricks.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or similar.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Python for data processing and automation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of data governance, data lineage, and metadata management.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in DBT, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or GCP are an added advantage.
