Profile: Engineering – Subject Matter Expert (SME)

We are looking for Master’s and PhD-level Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support an AI project focused on developing and evaluating Question–Solution–Answer (QSA) datasets. The role involves reviewing technical content, interpreting engineering drawings and diagrams, creating engineering questions, developing step-by-step solutions, and validating answers to help improve the quality and accuracy of AI systems.

Role Overview

- Create high-quality engineering questions based on technical content, drawings, diagrams, schematics, and technical figures.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, specifications, annotations, diagrams, and schematics.
- Develop accurate and logically structured step-by-step engineering solutions.
- Validate final answers for technical accuracy, relevance, consistency, and completeness.
- Review existing QSA content and identify technical errors, inconsistencies, ambiguities, or missing information.
- Apply relevant engineering principles, standards, and technical knowledge while developing and reviewing content.
- Ensure questions, solutions, and answers are transparent, precise, and technically accurate.
- Complete assigned tasks within the required timelines.
- Participate in quality checks and incorporate feedback when required.

Requirements

- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering or a closely related technical field.
- Strong subject matter expertise in one or more of the engineering disciplines listed above.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, schematics, technical figures, dimensions, and specifications.
- Strong technical problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to develop accurate, well-structured, step-by-step engineering solutions.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify technical errors, inconsistencies, and ambiguities.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts.
- Previous experience in engineering research, technical documentation, design, manufacturing, academia, teaching, consulting, or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a remote/freelance environment.
- Reliable internet connection and access to a computer/laptop.

Assessment & Onboarding

Candidates must successfully complete 1 mandatory assessment as part of the selection process. Successful candidates will proceed to onboarding and project allocation.
