Role Description The Engineer Trainee role is a full-time, in office position based in Chennai. The trainee will support senior engineers in the inspection, testing, maintenance, and re-manufacturing of transformers, generators, and motors, following established safety and quality procedures.
Daily responsibilities may include assisting in data collection, preparing technical documentation and reports, participating in installation and commissioning activities, and monitoring equipment performance under guidance. The role involves learning and applying engineering standards, using basic diagnostic tools,
and collaborating with cross-functional teams in the workshop and at project sites.
The Engineer
Trainee is expected to show strong willingness to learn, follow instructions carefully, and contribute to continuous improvement in operational processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess foundational electrical or mechanical engineering knowledge, with a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
- Candidates should possess basic skills in reading technical drawings, understanding single-line diagrams, and working with standard workshop tools and test instruments.
- Candidates should possess skills in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and the ability to follow engineering procedures and safety guidelines.
- Candidates should possess skills in written and verbal communication, including preparing simple technical reports and coordinating with supervisors and team members.
- Candidates should possess skills in time management, adaptability, and the ability to work in industrial on-site environments, including occasional travel to project locations.
- Knowledge of power transformers, generators, and high-voltage equipment will be beneficial, along with familiarity with quality standards and basic industrial safety practices.
- Internship or project experience in heavy electrical equipment, manufacturing, or maintenance will be an added advantage.
