Role Description A Satellite Electrical Technician is responsible for ensuring that satellite electrical systems, wiring harnesses, power distribution units, communication systems, sensors, and electronic components function correctly and meet quality and safety standards. The role often involves working in clean-room environments, laboratories, integration facilities, and testing centres. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Hyderabad Area.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Assembly and Integration

· Assemble electrical and electronic subsystems for satellites.

· Install wiring harnesses, connectors, circuit boards, and power systems.

· Responsibilities include installing, routing, and terminating flight wire harnesses and cables using NASA-STD-8739.3 workmanship standards.

· Integrate electrical components into satellite structures.

· Performing high-quality soldering of components on PCBs with attention to detail and adherence to IPC-A-610 standards.

2. Testing and Inspection

· Perform electrical continuity, insulation tests and conduct functional testing of satellite subsystems.

· Verify compliance with engineering specifications and aerospace standards.

· Use test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes,



spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.

· The technician must also perform detailed visual inspections of spacecraft harnesses to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space Addendum, ECSS standards, and internal programme standards, and verify mechanical integrity including routing, shielding, lacing, braiding, strain relief, tie locations, and bend radii.

· Supporting vibration and thermal development tests, running functional testing on units, performing HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening) testing of assemblies, and supporting conformal masking, epoxy application, and coating activities

3. Ground Support Operations

· Assist in satellite checkout and launch preparations.

· Support electrical testing during environmental tests such as vibration, thermal-vacuum, and EMI/EMC testing.

· Monitor satellite electrical systems during integration and launch campaigns.

4. Troubleshooting and Repair

· Diagnose electrical faults and component failures.

· Repair or replace defective electronic components.

· Analyze test data to identify system issues.

· Support root-cause investigations during anomalies.

5. Documentation and Reporting

· Maintain test records and inspection reports.

· Update wiring diagrams and technical documentation.

· Record maintenance activities and corrective actions.

6. Quality and Safety Compliance

· Follow aerospace quality standards and procedures.

· Adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control requirements.

· Ensure clean-room protocols are maintained.





· Support quality audits and inspections.

7. Preventive Maintenance

· Maintain test equipment and ground support equipment.

· Calibrate instruments according to procedures.

· Perform routine inspections to prevent failures.

8. Key Tools, Instruments Used & Purpose

Oscilloscope: Signal waveform analysis

Multimeter / DMM: Voltage, current, continuity checks

Hi-Pot Tester: Insulation resistance verification

Crimping Tools: Connector and harness fabrication

Soldering Station: PCB and wire termination

EGSE / EGSE Racks: Spacecraft functional testing

ESD Wrist Straps / Mats: Electrostatic discharge protection

Torque Tools: Controlled fastening of connectors

Educational Qualifications:

Diploma/ITI in Electrical, Electronics, or Avionics with 2-3 years of hands-on experience handling End-to-end satellite electrical systems integration & testing.
