Company Description The Sunita Sanghi Centre of Aging and Neurodegenerative Diseases (SCAN), IIT Bombay is looking for a motivated Electronics / Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team working on NeuroScan360, a portable, wearable, and AI-enabled platform for objective assessment and longitudinal monitoring of neurological and motor functions.

The engineer will work on the development, integration, testing, and optimization of sensor-based medical/health-tech devices

Role Description

- Design, develop, and integrate electronic and embedded systems for wearable and portable neurological assessment devices.
- Work with IMU sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopes, force/pressure sensors, cameras, and other physiological/motion sensors.
- Develop and optimize real-time data acquisition and synchronized multi-sensor systems.
- Interface sensors with microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi/embedded platforms, and communication modules.
- Develop and debug embedded firmware, sensor interfaces, and communication protocols such as I²C, SPI, UART, BLE/Wi-Fi, etc.
- Perform sensor calibration, signal quality assessment, noise reduction, and system-level testing.
- Work on PCB design, prototyping, hardware debugging, and integration of electronic components.
- Work closely with software, AI/ML, biomedical, and clinical research teams to translate clinical requirements into reliable hardware systems.
- Conduct device testing, troubleshooting, validation, and documentation for research and clinical studies.
- Contribute to the development of robust, portable, and user-friendly systems suitable for clinical and point-of-care applications.

Qualifications

- B.Tech./M.Tech. in Electronics Engineering,



Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a closely related field.
- Strong fundamentals in analog/digital electronics, sensors, signal acquisition, and embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers or Raspberry Pi/embedded platforms.
- Experience with sensor interfacing, hardware debugging, and electronics prototyping.
- Programming experience in C/C++ and/or Python.

Desirable Skills

- Experience with IMU/accelerometer/gyroscope, force/pressure sensors, cameras, or wearable sensors.
- Experience with PCB design and hardware prototyping.
- Knowledge of BLE/Wi-Fi and real-time data communication.
- Experience with signal processing and time-series data.
- Familiarity with Git, Linux, and embedded development environments.
- Experience in medical devices, biomedical instrumentation, wearable technology, robotics, or healthcare technology will be an advantage.

Eligibility:

- B.Tech./M.Tech. with 1–3 years of relevant experience
- Fresh graduates with strong hands-on project experience are also encouraged to apply.
