Role Description The Distributed Control System (DCS) Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Sathyamangalam, responsible for monitoring and controlling mill processes through the plant’s DCS. Day-to-day tasks include observing process parameters, adjusting control settings, and responding to alarms to maintain safe, stable, and effective operations.

The DCS Operator coordinates with field operators and supervisors, communicates process changes, and supports start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting activities. The role involves maintaining accurate shift logs, reporting deviations, and following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.



The operator also contributes to continuous improvement by suggesting process optimizations and supporting maintenance and quality control teams when required.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong process control skills, including experience with Distributed Control System (DCS) platforms and general process control principles.
- Candidates should possess background knowledge in industrial operations such as refineries, distillation processes, or similar process industries.
- Candidates should possess supervisory skills to coordinate with field personnel, manage shift activities, and ensure compliance with operating and safety procedures.
- Candidates should possess an understanding of safety practices, basic mechanical and electrical awareness, and troubleshooting abilities for process-related issues.
- Diploma or degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Relevant experience in paper mills or continuous process plants, familiarity with standard operating procedures, and willingness to work in shifts are beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment are important.
