About The Role The NetDevOps Consultant at SISL Global will play a pivotal role in advancing our network infrastructure through automation, integration, and orchestration across cloud, edge, and enterprise environments. This position focuses on implementing modern operations practices aligned with AI-first strategies, emphasizing Network Infrastructure as Code (NetIaC), CI/CD pipelines, and observability integration.
The role requires a blend of network engineering expertise and DevOps principles to enhance network reliability, security, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Cloud, SRE, IAM, and platform engineers, to deliver scalable, resilient, and automated network solutions that support our global operations.
Qualifications Candidates should possess a solid background in network engineering, with extensive experience in NOC, NRE, or NetDevOps roles. Deep understanding of core networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VRFs, and HSRP/VRRP is essential.
Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Data Center architectures (ACI/Nexus), WLAN, firewalls, and load balancers is required. Proficiency in network automation tools and languages, including Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, and CI/CD pipelines, is critical. Familiarity with Python libraries like Netmiko, NAPALM, and pyATS, as well as orchestration platforms such as Itential, is preferred.
Knowledge of Source of Truth tools like NetBox or Nautobot, ITSM integrations (e.g., ServiceNow), and observability platforms such as SolarWinds, Grafana, Elastic, and ThousandEyes is highly desirable. Candidates should have cloud networking experience in Azure and GCP, along with a good understanding of AI-driven operations and observability platforms. Relevant certifications in networking, cloud platforms, and automation will be advantageous.
Responsibilities The NetDevOps Consultant will be responsible for developing and managing Network Infrastructure as Code (NetIaC) using Python, Ansible, and Terraform to automate provisioning and lifecycle management of network components. They will design and implement CI/CD pipelines leveraging GitOps, APIs, and orchestration tools like Itential to streamline network service deployment.
Automating connectivity services such as VLAN, DNS, Firewall, and DDI, integrated with ServiceNow and ITSM workflows, will be a key focus.
The role involves driving AI/ML use cases including WAN capacity forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and enabling self-healing networks to enhance operational efficiency. The candidate will integrate and manage observability platforms like SolarWinds Orion, Elastic, Grafana, and ZDX for proactive monitoring and insights, ensuring continuous network stability and security.
Providing engineering support for MCP (Model Context Protocol) and AI agent integrations will be essential, along with ensuring AI-driven compliance, security monitoring, and cost optimization. The role requires collaboration with cloud, IAM, SRE, and platform teams to deliver unified control plane operations across Azure, GCP, and edge environments.
Active participation in design reviews to focus on resilience, scalability, and automation readiness is expected.
Creating reusable playbooks, pipelines, and modules for provisioning, upgrades, compliance, and backup workflows will be part of daily responsibilities. Mentoring fellow engineers and contributing to best practices in NetDevOps, automation, and reliability engineering will be vital to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Supporting global 24x7 operations aligned with SRE principles—such as SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets—while reducing incidents through AIOps initiatives will be a core aspect of this role.
