The Symbiosis Skills and Professional University invites applications from accomplished academicians, researchers, defence technology professionals, and industry experts for the position of Deputy Director of the School of Defence Technology & Aerospace.

The Professor-cum-Deputy Director will provide academic, research, strategic, and administrative leadership to the School and will work closely with the Director/Dean and University leadership to establish the School as a center of excellence in defence technology education, research, innovation, and industry/defence collaboration.

The position requires a solid combination of academic excellence, research leadership, institutional management, strategic partnerships, and knowledge of emerging defence technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities :

1. Ph.D. in Defence Technology, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
2. First Class or equivalent at the Bachelor's and Master's levels in the relevant branch of Engineering/Technology.
3. Minimum of 12 years of teaching, research, and/or industry experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent,



as per UGC/AICTE/university norms.
4. Outstanding academic record with significant contributions to teaching, research, and innovation in Defence and Aerospace Technology.
5. Proven record of high-quality publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals, patents, books, and sponsored research projects.
6. Demonstrated experience in guiding Ph.D. scholars, postgraduate research, and interdisciplinary research initiatives.
7. Experience in securing externally funded research projects, consultancy assignments, and establishing industry and defence collaborations.
8. Expertise in advanced areas such as aerospace systems, defence technologies, avionics, propulsion, UAVs, materials, simulation, or allied domains.
9. Proven leadership in curriculum development, accreditation, academic administration, and outcome-based education (OBE).
10. Excellent mentoring, communication, institutional leadership, and strategic planning skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and research.
