About the Role

Galaxy Weblinks is seeking a Senior Application & Database Architect Consultant to conduct high-level technical assessments across various client projects. You will evaluate existing application frameworks and database environments, identify technical debt, and deliver strategic recommendations to ensure scalability, optimal performance, and future-proof architecture.

Key Responsibilities

- System & DB Assessment: Review current application structures, data schemas, stored procedures, APIs, and overall system dependencies.
- Performance & Scalability: Analyze database growth, query efficiency, data utilization, and application responsiveness under load.
- Architecture Evaluation: Compare existing relational/SQL platforms against modern alternatives (e.g., PostgreSQL, NoSQL, microservices) based on cost, performance, and maintainability.
- Roadmap & Modernization: Identify technical debt and provide actionable roadmaps for system refactoring, database migration, or architectural modernization.




- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional technical teams and present architectural recommendations to key stakeholders.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- 15+ years of experience in Enterprise Application Architecture and Database Engineering.
- Advanced expertise in relational databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL) alongside application design patterns and data modeling.
- Deep hands-on proficiency in query optimization, indexing, stored procedures, capacity planning, and high availability.
- Proven track record leading system refactoring, platform migrations, and database modernizations.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to provide objective technical justifications and architecture documentation.
