Role: Data Engineer (Data Governance & Enterprise Modeling)

We are seeking a senior-level Data Engineer to own the translation of complex, operational data into analytics-ready, governed data products. In this role, you will design and build "golden layer" data models, embed enterprise business logic, and publish certified data assets to our enterprise catalog.

Key Responsibilities

- Design & Build Golden Layers: Model curated views and data marts from raw operational data, encoding complex approval workflow business rules (categorization, deduplication, duration calculations).
- Governance & Metric Validation: Partner with governance stakeholders to validate metric accuracy against agreed-upon standards.
- Cataloging & Documentation: Publish certified data products to the enterprise catalog with complete technical documentation and semantic context.
- Data Quality & Monitoring: Implement proactive data quality monitors to catch upstream schema changes or behavioral anomalies before they hit downstream consumers.
- Stakeholder Support: Empower analytics teams, business intelligence dashboards, and ad-hoc analysts with reliable, high-performing semantic views.

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years of heavy SQL development with complex business rule implementation in contemporary cloud data warehouses.
- Proven track record building curated views,



analytics-ready models, or data marts from raw operational system data.
- Strong proficiency in data quality validation, automated testing frameworks, and clear technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage minimal oversight, and clarify ambiguous business requirements into clean, structured data structures.

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years building governed data layers in Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with dbt (or similar transformation frameworks), semantic modeling, and data catalog tools.
- Familiarity with event-sourced data models, approval workflow systems, or subscription-based domains.
- Background in data governance practices, enterprise catalog management, or regulated industries (e.g., Healthcare).

- Maintain Active Usage: Consistently integrate tools like GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and approved GenAI platforms into your daily workflows.
- Drive Productivity: Leverage AI to accelerate SQL writing, automated testing, technical documentation, and data analysis.
- Continuously Learn: Adapt to evolving AI features to continuously improve code quality, documentation clarity, and output speed.
