Role Description The CTVS Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, assisting with procedures, managing surgical drains and invasive lines, and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. The nurse will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to support patient recovery, educate patients and families, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram,
requiring flexible shifts and adherence to hospital policies and clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery nursing, including pre- and post-operative care, ICU or high-dependency unit experience, and management of critical care equipment.
- Strong patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation skills, with the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition promptly.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, medication administration safety, and adherence to hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams and provide clear education to patients and families.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy and composure under pressure.
- Recognized nursing qualification (GNM, B.Sc Nursing, or equivalent) and valid nursing registration with the appropriate council.
- Prior experience in CTVS, cardiac surgery, or critical care nursing is highly preferred; experience in tertiary or multi-specialty hospitals is an advantage.
- Commitment to continuous learning, participation in clinical trainings, and adherence to ethical and professional standards of care.
