Role & responsibilities

- Prepare detailed product costing and should-cost models.

- Analyze supplier quotations and prepare cost breakdowns for material, labour, process, overheads, tooling, logistics and margins.

- Lead supplier negotiations and validate price increase/decrease requests.

- Identify and implement cost-saving / VA-VE initiatives.

- Drive cost reduction through material optimization, alternate sourcing, process improvement and supplier development.

- Benchmark supplier prices and raw-material costs against market conditions.

- Support recent product costing, design changes and target-costing activities.

- Maintain cost-saving trackers and report savings to management.

- Work closely with Engineering, Purchase, Production, Quality and Finance teams.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of manufacturing costing and cost structures.

- Expertise in cost breakdown / should-cost analysis.

- Strong negotiation and procurement skills.

- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and raw materials.

- Strong analytical and Excel skills.

- Experience in VA/VE and cost reduction.

- Ability to challenge supplier pricing with data and develop competitive cost models.
