About The Role The Asia Pacific division of FM is seeking a dedicated Loss Prevention Consultant to join our Mumbai office. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for a qualified engineer aspiring to develop a career in loss prevention engineering.

As a Loss Prevention Consultant, you will play a vital role in assessing and mitigating risks associated with large commercial and industrial properties. Your work will directly influence the safety and resilience of client operations, helping to prevent potential disasters and minimize financial losses. This role offers extensive training, mentorship, and the opportunity to work independently while being supported by FM’s rich heritage of over 200 years of engineering expertise.

You will have the chance to visit client sites, perform detailed evaluations, and recommend engineering solutions that enhance property safety and operational stability.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of construction practices, project execution, and assessment of flood, wind, and earthquake risks.
- 2 to 7 years of relevant experience in large EPC organizations, project/construction management, or engineering roles supporting large industrial facilities, petrochemical plants, or complex commercial projects.
- Field or site engineering experience, demonstrating hands-on involvement in physical assessments.
- Strong business acumen and project leadership skills,



with proven ability to own deliverables and coordinate cross-functionally.
- Willingness to travel and engage directly with clients, project teams, and site personnel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information.
- Positive analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Efficient time management skills, capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Proven technical capability with diverse knowledge of engineering principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and related tools.

Responsibilities As a Loss Prevention Consultant, you will undertake a variety of responsibilities aimed at risk assessment and mitigation for large commercial and industrial clients. Your initial focus will be on learning FM’s standards and procedures through structured training and mentorship. Over time, you will independently evaluate client properties, performing site assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend engineering solutions. Your day-to-day activities will include conducting on-site inspections of physical properties such as roofs, water supplies, dust hazards, and chemical storage areas. You will evaluate rack storage arrangements and other operational aspects that could pose risks to property and personnel. These assessments will involve detailed documentation, analysis, and communication of findings to clients, ensuring they understand the risks and the proposed mitigation strategies.

In this role, you will follow FM’s engineering standards and best practices, providing recommendations that help clients reduce their exposure to potential disasters. Building strong relationships through effective communication and technical advice will be essential.



You will also collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive risk management plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.

As you gain experience, your responsibilities will expand to include assessing larger and more complex properties, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and contributing to the continuous improvement of FM’s loss prevention methodologies. Your work will directly impact client safety, operational resilience, and financial stability, making a tangible difference in their business continuity.
