About the Role of Compliance Manager

This role ensures that Knorr‑Bremse’s local operations in India adhere to the highest ethical standards and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The position requires strong collaboration with the corporate compliance team, the regional compliance officer, managing directors and heads of departments in India, and other key stakeholders, while driving a robust compliance culture across the organization. This role primarily reports to Regional Compliance Officer, Asia Pacific, and secondarily report to Country Compliance Officer, India

Key Responsibilities The Compliance Manager will act as a business partner and business enabler, while implementing and managing an effective Compliance Management Program covering the defined risk areas. The broad areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Drive and implement an effective Compliance Management System covering areas such as Anti‑Corruption, Anti‑Trust, Data Privacy, Export Control, Human Rights, Anti‑Fraud, etc.
- Provide regular compliance updates to the local managing director and regional/local senior management; ensure timely and accurate reporting on compliance status and risk mitigation.
- Oversee and champion the implementation of compliance policies and guidelines (including but not limited to the Code of Conduct, Anti‑Corruption, Conflict of Interest, Fair Competition, etc.). Propose and draft fit‑for‑purpose local compliance policies/guidelines, or improve existing ones, to ensure that compliance risks are properly addressed and managed.
- Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments, monitor compliance risks, and define and implement mitigation strategies for emerging risks.
- Develop and deliver tailored compliance training programs to foster a culture of integrity, speak‑up, and ethical decision‑making.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders; collaborate with other departments/functions (e.g., Legal, Finance, Human Resources, Internal Audit),



as well as corporate and regional compliance teams.
- Lead and drive the implementation of business partner due diligence programs in local operations.
- Conduct regular compliance monitoring and assurance activities to identify emerging issues and ensure adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
- Lead and support relevant compliance investigations and report findings and recommend remediation actions to corporate, regional, and local teams. This includes conducting root cause analyses to identify systemic issues and ensuring that insights gained from investigations drive continuous improvement.
- Drive, monitor and support the implementation of compliance remediation actions in local operations.
- Lead or support initiatives or projects requested by the corporate compliance team, regional compliance officer, corporate or regional management, or other senior leaders.

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with the following required skills to achieve our goals:

- High integrity and ethical standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in law, business, accounting, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in compliance, legal, auditing, investigation, or internal control roles gained in large multinational companies. Experience in manufacturing industry is an added advantage.
- Certification in Fraud Examiner (CFE) Qualification is must.
- Strong and comprehensive knowledge of local laws and regulations related to anti‑bribery and corruption, white‑collar crime, anti‑fraud, and corporate compliance topics.
- Solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with and influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management and change management skills.
- Ability to adapt, translate, and implement corporate and regional compliance policies and guidelines to ensure they effectively address local needs.
- Ability to leverage data analytics, technology, and available tools or resources to ensure compliance functions as a proactive, strategic, and efficient partner to the business.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to travel.
