Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Solar EPC / Renewable Energy Sector
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with strong expertise in IPO execution, SEBI compliance, project finance, capital markets, and strategic financial leadership. Candidates from infrastructure, Solar EPC, Renewable Energy, or other relevant industries with comparable experience and exposure to these areas are encouraged to apply.
The CFO will be responsible for leading the companys financial strategy, fundraising, project financing,
governance, compliance, investor relations, and IPO readiness. The role will be critical in supporting the companys growth, strengthening financial systems, and preparing the organization for a successful public market journey.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Business Leadership
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the companys solar EPC, renewable energy, and infrastructure growth plans.
Work closely with the CEO / MD and leadership team on business expansion, capital allocation, IPO readiness, and long-term value creation.
Lead financial planning for EPC bids, project pricing, contract structuring, and profitability improvement.
Support strategic decisions related to new projects, partnerships, investments, and business diversification.
2. IPO Readiness & Capital Markets
Lead and coordinate the end-to-end IPO readiness process, including due diligence, valuation, documentation,
listing strategy, and regulatory coordination.
Work with investment bankers, legal advisors, auditors, merchant bankers, RTA, stock exchanges, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure compliance with applicable SEBI regulations, Companies Act, ICDR requirements, LODR requirements,
and stock exchange norms.
Oversee preparation and review of DRHP / RHP, financial disclosures, corporate governance documentation, and investor presentation materials.
Support investor roadshows, analyst interactions, and capital market communication.
3. Project Finance & Fundraising
Lead debt syndication, structured finance, working capital finance, equity fundraising, and project-level funding arrangements.
Maintain strong relationships with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, PE / VC funds, and institutional investors.
Evaluate project viability through IRR, NPV, DSCR, payback, sensitivity analysis, and scenario modelling.
Structure financing solutions for solar EPC, IPP, BESS, manufacturing,
and infrastructure projects.
4. Financial Planning & Analysis
Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and long-term financial projections.
Monitor project-wise profitability, cost control, revenue recognition, margins, and working capital efficiency.
Provide timely MIS, dashboards, financial insights, and strategic recommendations to management and board.
Improve financial discipline across project execution, procurement, billing, collections, and cost monitoring.
5. Financial Operations, Accounting & Compliance
Oversee accounting, taxation, treasury, audit, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, Income Tax, GST, SEBI regulations, accounting standards, and other applicable laws.
Strengthen internal controls, audit systems, governance processes, delegation of authority, and financial reporting frameworks.
Ensure timely completion of statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits, and regulatory filings.
6. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
Manage EPC working capital cycles, including milestone billing, receivables, retention money, payables, BGs, LCs,
and vendor payments.
Ensure adequate liquidity for project execution and business expansion.
Monitor cash flows, fund utilization, collection cycles, and project-wise financial commitments.
Optimize borrowing cost, banking limits, and treasury operations.
7. Risk Management & Governance
Identify and mitigate financial, regulatory, contractual, and project execution risks.
Monitor risks related to project delays, cost overruns, payment delays, interest rate changes, currency exposure, and market volatility.
Establish strong risk management, compliance, and governance mechanisms.
Ensure board-level reporting and transparent financial communication.
8. Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management
Lead communication with investors, analysts, board members, banks, rating agencies, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Present financial performance, business plans, growth strategy, and funding requirements.
Prepare high-quality corporate presentations, board notes, investor decks, lender presentations, and official financial communication.
Build credibility with capital market participants and institutional stakeholders.
9. Team Leadership & Systems
Build and lead a capable finance, accounts, taxation, treasury, and compliance team.
Implement scalable financial systems, ERP, project accounting tools, MIS dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
Develop SOPs for budgeting, approvals, payments, billing, compliance, and financial controls.
Mentor the finance team and create a culture of accountability, accuracy, and governance.
Qualifications & Experience
Chartered Accountant, MBA Finance, CFA, or equivalent finance qualification.
Minimum 10–15 years of experience, preferably with exposure to renewable energy, solar EPC, infrastructure,
power, manufacturing, or capital-intensive sectors.
Proven experience in IPO readiness, DRHP / RHP preparation, SEBI compliance, listing process, or public market transactions.
Strong understanding of project finance, infrastructure funding, debt syndication, and capital raising.
Experience in handling banks, NBFCs, auditors, investment bankers, investors, and regulatory authorities.
Key Skills & Competencies
Solid understanding of IPO process, SEBI regulations, capital markets, and corporate governance.
Excellent financial modelling, valuation, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
Knowledge of EPC contracts, project accounting, revenue recognition, retention money, BGs, LCs, and working capital cycles.
Strong command over Companies Act, GST, taxation, audit, and statutory compliance.
Ability to prepare investor presentations, board presentations, lender notes, and management reports.
Strategic thinking with strong execution capability.
Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Attributes
Experience in solar EPC, renewable energy, infrastructure, power, or energy storage sector.
Exposure to PPA structures, government tenders, DISCOM ecosystem, PM-KUSUM, SECI / MSEDCL tenders, and open access projects.
Familiarity with ESG reporting, sustainability disclosures, and corporate governance frameworks.
Experience in scaling companies through private equity, debt funding, or public listing.
Ability to work in a fast-growing, execution-driven organization.
