Own the compliance function end to end and build it from the ground up. This role holds the board-approved digital lending policy, the regulatory calendar, and the organisation's relationship with the regulator. It is a build mandate, not a maintenance one — you will be defining what compliance looks like here before anyone else does.
Key Responsibilities
● Draft, obtain board approval for, and maintain the digital lending policy and Fair Practices Code.
● Own registration and upkeep of all Digital Lending Apps on the RBI CIMS portal.
● Build and run the Lending Service Provider due diligence and ongoing oversight framework, including periodic audits.
● Own the compliance calendar — periodic returns, statutory audits, certifications and board reporting.
● Ensure Key Fact Statement discipline and disclosure accuracy across every product and channel.
● Manage regulatory correspondence, inspections and any remediation arising from them.
● Advise product, credit and technology teams on regulatory impact before launch, not after.
Requirements
● 10–15 years in regulatory compliance at an NBFC, bank, digital lender or payment institution.
● Direct hands-on involvement in an RBI inspection, an NBFC licensing process, or implementation of the 2025 Digital Lending Directions — the application must state which.
● Working knowledge of Scale Based Regulation, outsourcing norms and Fair Practices Code.
● CS, LLB or CA preferred.
● Ability to write policy that survives regulatory scrutiny and to say no to the business when required
