About the Position

Takshashila University invites applications from enthusiastic and committed M.Sc. and M.Phil. Chemistry graduates to join the Department of Chemistry. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality undergraduate teaching, conducting laboratory sessions, mentoring students, and supporting the academic activities of the department.

This position is particularly suitable for candidates who are passionate about teaching, laboratory-based learning, and building an academic career in higher education.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach undergraduate Chemistry courses as assigned by the department.
- Conduct engaging lectures, tutorials, practical and laboratory sessions.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, presentations, assignments and question papers.
- Demonstrate and supervise Chemistry laboratory experiments.
- Ensure safe and effective use of laboratory chemicals, instruments and equipment.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, practical assessments and other academic activities.
- Provide academic guidance, mentoring and support to students.
- Maintain course files, attendance records, assessment records and other academic documentation.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning and curriculum-related activities.
- Assist in organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, guest lectures and other academic events.




- Support student projects, internships and academic activities.
- Contribute to departmental laboratory development, inventory management and academic resources.
- Participate in university committees and other responsibilities assigned by the Head of the Department.
- Encourage students to participate in research, innovation, competitions and co-curricular academic activities.
- Continuously update subject knowledge and adopt effective and technology-enabled teaching practices.

EligibilityEssential Qualification
- M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized university/institution.
- M.Phil. in Chemistry will be an added advantage.
- Strong academic background in Chemistry.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to handle both theory and practical/laboratory teaching.

Desirable
- 0–5 years of teaching / academic experience.
- NET/SET qualification will be an advantage, wherever applicable.
- Experience in laboratory handling and practical instruction.
- Research experience, publications or participation in academic conferences will be an advantage.
- Candidates pursuing or planning to pursue a Ph.D. are encouraged to apply.
