We are looking for an experienced Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead the compliance function of our NBFC and ensure adherence to applicable RBI regulations, statutory requirements, regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in NBFC/Banking/Financial Services compliance, with a preference for candidates from Legal or Company Secretary (CS) backgrounds.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with RBI regulations applicable to NBFCs.
- Monitor regulatory circulars, notifications and amendments.
- Assess regulatory impact and drive implementation.
- Maintain the regulatory compliance framework and compliance calendar.
- Ensure timely regulatory reporting and submissions.
Legal & Corporate Governance
- Review corporate policies, agreements and business processes from a compliance perspective.
- Work closely with the Board, senior management and Company Secretary on governance matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Companies Act and other statutory requirements.
- Support Board/Committee reporting and regulatory governance requirements.
- Identify legal and regulatory risks arising from business activities.
- Identify control gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Track compliance exceptions and ensure timely closure.
- Report material compliance risks to senior management and the Board.
KYC / AML
- Oversee KYC, AML, CFT and PMLA compliance.
- Review customer due diligence and transaction-monitoring controls.
- Ensure appropriate processes for suspicious transaction identification and reporting.
RBI & Audit
- Act as the primary compliance contact for RBI and other regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate RBI inspections and regulatory queries.
- Ensure timely closure of regulatory observations.
- Coordinate with Internal Audit, Risk and Statutory Audit teams.
Candidate Profile
- Qualification: CS and Legal profiles preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an NBFC, Bank, Fintech or Financial Services organization.
- Strong understanding of RBI regulations and NBFC compliance requirements.
- Experience in handling RBI inspections, regulatory reporting and compliance audits.
- Strong knowledge of KYC/AML/PMLA requirements.
- Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
- Solid ethical standards, independence and regulatory judgment.
- Prior experience in a senior compliance leadership role will be preferred.
