Role Description This is a contract, on-site Catia role based in Chennai within the Automotive and Farm Equipment Business of Mahindra and Mahindra Limited. The Catia professional will be responsible for creating and modifying 3D CAD models and assemblies, preparing detailed engineering drawings, and ensuring design accuracy and manufacturability.
Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams, supporting design reviews,
and incorporating feedback to refine components and systems. The role also involves maintaining design documentation, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements, and contributing to continuous improvement of product design processes.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Catia for 3D modeling, surfacing, assembly design, and drafting.
- Experience in automotive and/or farm equipment product design, including components and systems.
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, GD&T;, and manufacturing processes (e.g., sheet metal, plastics, castings).
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards.
- Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams in design, testing, and manufacturing.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and capability to manage multiple design tasks within deadlines.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with PLM systems (such as Enovia or similar), and familiarity with design validation or CAE tools is an advantage.
