Business Analyst Business Finance & Revenue Assurance

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical and business-oriented Business Analyst to support Business Finance, Revenue Assurance, P&L; analytics, cost analysis, and revenue optimization initiatives within the logistics and supply chain environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a good understanding of business and financial processes, and the ability to convert large datasets into actionable business insights. The role requires hands-on proficiency in SQL, Python, Advanced Excel, Power BI, and AI/analytics tools.

Exposure to the Logistics, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Transportation, Freight, or Distribution industry will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Support Business Finance and Revenue Assurance projects by analyzing revenue, costs, profitability, and operational performance.
- Perform detailed revenue analysis, cost analysis, P&L; analysis, and variance analysis.
- Identify revenue leakage, billing discrepancies, pricing deviations, incorrect charges, missed revenue opportunities, and process gaps.
- Analyze Actual vs. Budget vs. Forecast performance and identify key financial and operational drivers.
- Develop analytical models to monitor revenue realization, cost efficiency, margins, and profitability.
- Work with business and finance teams to understand revenue and cost structures and translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
- Build automated MIS, dashboards, KPI reports, and management reporting using Power BI and Excel.
- Develop SQL-based data extraction and analysis from multiple business and operational data sources.
- Use Python for data cleaning, transformation, analysis, automation, and advanced analytics.
- Perform root-cause analysis of revenue leakage, cost overruns, margin deterioration, and operational variances.
- Support revenue assurance controls by developing analytical checks, exception reports, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue improvement, process automation, and operational efficiency.
- Develop business cases and quantify the financial impact of identified opportunities.




- Perform trend analysis, forecasting, scenario analysis, and what-if analysis to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Commercial, Sales, Technology, and SCM teams to drive data-backed decision-making.
- Leverage AI tools and analytics platforms to improve reporting, analysis, automation, and productivity.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear and structured manner.

Logistics / SCM Exposure – Added Advantage Candidates with exposure to logistics or supply chain processes will be preferred. Relevant areas include:

- Transportation and freight operations
- Last-mile / middle-mile logistics
- Shipment and delivery analytics
- Freight billing and revenue reconciliation
- Order-to-cash processes
- Pricing and tariff analysis

Technical Skills

Must Have:

- SQL – strong proficiency in querying, joins, aggregations, subqueries, CTEs, and data analysis.
- Advanced Excel – Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Power Query, data modeling, dashboards, and financial analysis.
- Power BI – dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, KPI reporting, and visualization.
- Python – data analysis, automation, data manipulation, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of data visualization and storytelling.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools for analysis, automation, productivity, and business problem-solving.

Business & Finance Skills

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Business Analytics, Business Finance, FP&A;, Revenue Assurance, Data Analytics, Commercial Analytics, or a similar role.
- Candidates from reputed engineering/business institutions are preferred.
- Experience in Logistics, SCM, Transportation, E-commerce, Freight, or Distribution is an added advantage.
