Role Description The Bus Driver – Tech On Wheels Program is a full-time, in office role based in Mumbai. The driver will be responsible for safely operating the Tech On Wheels bus, transporting digital equipment and educational materials to designated night schools and program locations. Daily tasks include following scheduled routes, ensuring timely arrival and departure, performing basic vehicle checks, and maintaining cleanliness and order inside the bus.

The driver will coordinate with program staff to support loading and unloading equipment, assist in setting up the mobile classroom area when needed, and follow all traffic and safety regulations.



The role also involves maintaining accurate logs of trips, reporting any vehicle issues promptly, and interacting respectfully with students, school staff, and community members.

Qualifications

- Valid commercial or public transport driving license, with a strong record of safe driving and familiarity with Mumbai routes.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections, basic maintenance checks, and coordinate with service providers for repairs.
- Comfort working around digital and educational equipment, with basic troubleshooting skills for common operational issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with students, school staff, and colleagues.
- Reliability in following schedules, maintaining documentation of trips, and adhering to organizational policies and safety protocols.
- Willingness to work evening or late hours as required by night school operations, and to support an education-focused NGO environment.
- Prior experience driving school buses, program vehicles, or working in the education or social sector is an advantage.
- Minimum educational qualification of high school completion or equivalent; additional training in defensive driving or safety is a plus.
