Job Summary:

We are seeking The Block Supervisor for Hostel is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assigned hostel block and ensuring smooth functioning of accommodation, mess, hygiene, maintenance, and student support services. The role focuses on operational execution, monitoring, and coordination with wardens, housekeeping, maintenance, security, and support staff to maintain discipline, safety, cleanliness, and service quality in line with institutional standards. The position requires working in rotational shifts, including day, evening, and night shifts, to ensure continuous hostel supervision and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervise day-to-day operations of the assigned hostel block and ensure smooth functioning of hostel activities.

· Monitor student movement, room occupancy, discipline, and adherence to hostel rules and regulations.

· Coordinate with wardens, housekeeping, security, mess, and maintenance teams for effective hostel administration.

· Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, and proper upkeep of hostel facilities, including rooms, restrooms, common areas, and dining halls.

· Inspect hostel infrastructure regularly and coordinate timely resolution of civil, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance issues.

· Supervise housekeeping and support staff, including duty allocation, attendance, shift scheduling, and performance monitoring.

· Address student concerns, complaints, grievances, and emergencies promptly, escalating critical issues when required.





· Ensure implementation of safety measures, fire safety practices, and emergency response procedures within the hostel.

· Maintain records related to occupancy, attendance, complaints, maintenance, incidents, and daily operations.

· Support hostel events, inspections, audits, and other institutional activities as assigned.

· Ensure smooth shift handover and work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.

Desired Candidates Qualifications

· Any Undergraduate / Postgraduate Degree in any discipline.

· 3–6 years of experience in hostel administration, residential facility supervision, or institutional operations will be preferred.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to manage students and handle disciplinary matters professionally.

· Good coordination, supervision, and team-handling capability.

· Problem-solving ability with strong observation and attention to detail.

· Awareness of hostel operations, hygiene, safety, and emergency handling practices.

· Basic administrative, reporting, and record-maintenance skills.

· Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
