About The Role We are seeking a talented and motivated Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at Delivery Hero. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend services that support our extensive food delivery platform.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and operations, to build scalable, high-performance solutions that enhance our service offerings. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency, security, and user experience of our applications, ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of our customers and partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java and Spring Boot, along with a passion for delivering high-quality, innovative backend solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in backend development, with a solid understanding of modern software engineering practices. Proficiency in Java programming and extensive experience with the Spring Boot framework are essential. You should have a good grasp of design patterns, asynchronous data flows, and event-driven systems.





Experience designing and building high-availability, scalable RESTful APIs is required. Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, is necessary. Candidates should also have experience with security protocols including OAuth 2.0 and JWT, along with knowledge of cloud-native development on platforms like Google Cloud Platform. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are essential.

Experience with Agile methodologies, peer code reviews, and unit testing practices will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot framework to support our food delivery platform.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable and efficient backend solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Implement and manage databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and optimal performance.
- Develop RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration with various front-end and mobile applications.
- Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and reliability of applications through code optimization and performance tuning.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, write comprehensive unit and integration tests, and maintain clear documentation for backend services.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to enhance system stability.
- Participate actively in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to foster continuous improvement.




- Work closely with product teams and other developers to complete development tasks and deliver new features on time.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve architecture, coding standards, and development processes to optimize efficiency and scalability.
- Assist in the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies, integrating relevant innovations into our development lifecycle.
- Perform other duties as assigned, aligned with your skills and the company’s evolving needs.
