Asst. Mgr - STA (Forging & Machining) Key Responsibilities 1.

Component Development

Lead end-to-end development of gears & shafts for 2W applications (engine and transmission systems). Work on current product development (NPD), localization, and design change activities. Ensure technical specifications, drawings, and manufacturing requirements to be met. 3.

Supplier Development

Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for gear and shaft manufacturing. Drive APQP, PPAP approvals with suppliers. Ensure supplier readiness for mass production. 4.

Manufacturing Process Management

Monitor and optimize key processes: Forging / Bar machining Gear hobbing, shaping, shaving/grinding Heat treatment (carburizing, hardening, tempering, nitriding) Surface finishing Ensure adherence to process capability (Cp, Cpk).

- Quality & Validation Plan and execute validation activities:



Metallurgical checks Dimensional inspection Analyse field failures and implement corrective actions. Implement 8D, root cause analysis, and continuous improvements. 6.

Cost Optimization

Drive cost reduction initiatives through: VA/VE activities Process improvements Material optimization Support localization and alternate sourcing strategies. 7.

Project Management

Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Purchase, Production). Ensure timely SOP (Start of Production).
