Role Description As an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Figma Intelligence, you will design, build, and optimize AI systems that power our Figma plugin and MCP bridge. You will work on integrating and orchestrating multiple large language models and vision systems, improving AI workflows for screen generation, accessibility audits, and design-to-code pipelines.

Day-to-day, you will develop and refine machine learning models, implement scalable backend services, collaborate with product and design teams,



and ensure reliable performance within Figma’s workplace. You will also contribute to model evaluation, experimentation, and deployment, focusing on robust pattern recognition and UX-aligned AI behaviors. This is a full-time remote role, offering flexibility while requiring strong communication and collaboration across distributed teams.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience with Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition, especially in applied ML or deep learning systems.
- Hands-on expertise with Natural Language Processing (NLP), LLMs, and AI model integration into production applications.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used for AI/ML (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar) and familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience building and maintaining scalable APIs or microservices, preferably in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Comfort working with design tools or developer ecosystems (e.g., Figma plugins, VS Code extensions) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team, with clear communication, documentation, and a focus on inclusive collaboration.
