Role Overview:

The Senior Manager – Air Export Customs Clearance will be responsible for managing end to-end customs clearance operations for air export shipments while ensuring compliance with applicable customs, DGFT, GST, and regulatory requirements. The role involves managing export documentation, coordinating with Customs Authorities, airlines, airport authorities, CHA, customers, and internal teams, ensuring timely shipment clearance and leading the customs clearance team.

Responsibilities:

- Manage end-to-end customs clearance activities for Air Export shipments.
- Ensure accurate preparation, verification, and filing of Shipping Bills, invoices, packing lists, AWB details, and other export documents.
- Ensure timely filing and processing of Shipping Bills through ICEGATE / EDI systems.
- Monitor customs assessment, examination, queries, amendments, and Let Export Order (LEO).
- Ensure compliance with Customs Act, DGFT regulations, GST, Foreign Trade Policy, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Ensure proper handling of restricted, controlled, and special cargo as per applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with Customs Authorities, CHA, airlines, airport authorities, DGFT, and other regulatory bodies.
- Ensure shipments are cleared within required airline cut-off times and customer timelines.




- Monitor shipment status from documentation through customs clearance and final handover to the airline.
- Proactively resolve documentation discrepancies, customs queries, examination issues, and shipment delays.
- Minimize storage, demurrage, detention, rollover, and other additional operational costs.
- Coordinate closely with Air Export Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and other internal departments.
- Handle customer queries and escalations related to customs clearance and export documentation.
- Provide timely updates to customers regarding shipment and customs clearance status.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with customers, airlines, CHA, customs officials, and other stakeholders.
- Act as the key point of contact for critical and high-value export shipments.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and efficient clearance services.
- Prepare and review MIS reports, KPI dashboards, TAT reports, and exception reports.
- Monitor customs clearance performance and identify operational gaps.
- Implement process improvements to enhance Turnaround Time (TAT), compliance, service quality, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain accurate customs documentation, records, and compliance files.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
- Establish effective controls to minimize customs-related risks and operational errors.
