The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, financial records, payment verification, customer outstanding, stock-related accounting, staff expenses, statutory documentation, and coordination with the company’s Chartered Accountant and banking partners.
The position requires accuracy, confidentiality, financial discipline, strong follow-up skills, and strict adherence to company procedures.
Key Responsibilities1. Daily Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate day-to-day accounting records.
- Record sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses, journal entries and other transactions.
- Maintain accounts in accounting software and manual records wherever required.
- Verify invoices, vouchers, receipts and supporting documents.
- Ensure proper ledger posting and reconciliation.
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents.
1. Payment Verification & Collection
- Verify customer payments received through cash, bank transfer, UPI and other modes.
- Verify payment details against customer invoices and outstanding balances.
- Coordinate with sales executives regarding customer collections.
- Track customer-wise outstanding amounts and overdue payments.
- Prepare daily/weekly outstanding reports for management.
- Ensure that all collections are properly recorded and deposited.
1. Customer Accounts & Credit Control
- Maintain customer ledgers and credit accounts.
- Monitor credit limits and approved credit periods.
- Follow up on overdue invoices in coordination with the sales team.
- Verify customer account balances before approving further credit transactions.
- Prepare customer statements and outstanding reports.
- Identify payment mismatches, short payments and disputed invoices.
1. Credit Notes, Debit Notes & Returns
- Prepare and process credit notes and debit notes as per company policy.
- Verify material returns and supporting documents before processing credit notes.
- Coordinate with warehouse and sales teams for returned materials.
- Ensure all adjustments are properly reflected in customer accounts.

Bank & Cash Management
- Maintain daily cash records and cash vouchers.
- Verify cash collections and bank deposits.
- Prepare cash deposit documentation.
- Maintain petty cash and supporting vouchers.
- Perform regular bank reconciliation.
- Track company bank transactions and identify discrepancies.
1. Staff Salary & Expenses
- Assist in preparation of monthly salary calculations.
- Verify staff attendance and leave records before payroll processing.
- Calculate incentives, commissions, deductions and approved reimbursements.
- Maintain employee expense records.
- Verify travel, fuel, telephone and other staff expense claims.
1. Company Expenses
- Maintain records of office expenses, warehouse expenses and vehicle expenses.
- Verify bills and supporting documents before payment.
- Monitor recurring expenses and report unusual or excessive expenses to management.
- Maintain petty cash and expense registers.
1. Inventory & Stock Accounting
- Coordinate with the warehouse team for stock verification.
- Reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Check purchase invoices against received materials.
- Assist in identifying stock shortages, excess stock and discrepancies.
- Coordinate with warehouse and management regarding stock adjustments.
- Ensure material returns and inventory adjustments are properly documented.
1. Sales & Purchase Accounting
- Verify purchase invoices and supplier bills.
- Record purchase and sales transactions accurately.
- Reconcile supplier accounts.
- Track supplier outstanding and payment schedules.
- Verify sales invoices, discounts, taxes and other commercial adjustments.
1. Audit & Chartered Accountant Coordination
- Coordinate with the company’s Chartered Accountant (CA) for accounting, audit and statutory requirements.
- Provide required ledgers, invoices, vouchers, bank statements and other documents for audit.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and audit schedules.
- Coordinate for GST, TDS, income-tax and other statutory filing requirements as instructed by the CA.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
1. Banking Coordination
- Coordinate with banks for account-related documentation.
- Assist in preparation and submission of required banking documents.
- Maintain bank statements and reconciliation records.
- Follow up with the bank regarding transactions, payments and other company requirements.
1. Internal Controls & Verification
- Ensure company financial procedures are followed.
- Verify transactions before posting or processing.
- Maintain proper authorization for payments, credit notes, expenses and adjustments.
- Report suspicious, unusual or unauthorized transactions immediately to management.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of company financial and customer information.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance preferred.
- Practical experience in accounting, preferably in a distribution, trading, wholesale or retail business.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Experience with Tally / ERP / accounting software.
- Valuable knowledge of MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS and basic Indian accounting compliance.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Good communication and customer/sales-team coordination skills.
- Ability to independently manage daily accounting activities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Experience 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience in a distribution, wholesale, trading or similar business environment.
Pay: ₹8,593.92 - ₹15,000.00 per month
