Role Overview The Quality Assurance and Academic Compliance Manager will take day-to-day responsibility for monitoring the quality of teaching, assessment, learner work and internal processes across our qualifications. The successful candidate will carefully review assessments and quality records, support assessors and tutors, identify compliance concerns and ensure that practices meet UK awarding-organisation requirements.

This role is suited to an experienced educator, academic coordinator, curriculum specialist, internal verifier, quality assurer or education compliance professional who can examine learner portfolios and documentation in detail and ensure that corrective actions are completed promptly.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment and Marking Quality

- Review assessors' marking and feedback to ensure assessment decisions are accurate, fair, consistent and supported by appropriate evidence.
- Check that learner evidence meets the relevant learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
- Ensure assessment feedback is clear, constructive, personalised and sufficiently detailed.
- Identify weak, incomplete or inconsistent assessment decisions and return them to the assessor for corrective action.
- Monitor the quality and timeliness of marking across all assessors and qualifications.
- Maintain assessment trackers and ensure outstanding work is followed up promptly.
- Sample learner portfolios in accordance with the approved internal quality assurance strategy.
- Ensure work is not approved until all required evidence and practical observations are complete.

Internal Quality Assurance

- Develop and maintain IQA plans, sampling schedules and risk-based sampling arrangements.
- Review learner portfolios, assessment records, observation reports and supporting evidence.
- Check the authenticity, validity, reliability, sufficiency and currency of learner evidence.
- Monitor assessor performance and identify training or standardisation needs.
- Produce clear IQA reports and action plans, and follow actions through to satisfactory completion.
- Arrange and document assessor and tutor standardisation meetings.
- Ensure assessment decisions remain consistent across assessors.
- Support preparation of portfolios and records for external quality assurance visits.

Learner Academic Support

- Review learner progress and identify individuals requiring additional academic support.
- Guide learners on assignment structure, academic writing, referencing and interpreting assessment criteria.
- Develop assignment guidance, study resources, model structures, workshops and support materials.
- Help learners understand assessor feedback and prepare their own improved submissions.
- Monitor resubmissions and ensure learners receive appropriate and timely support.




- Maintain academic integrity and ensure every submission represents the learner's own knowledge, understanding and work.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY: This role does not involve writing assignments or producing assessment evidence on behalf of learners. The postholder must actively prevent plagiarism, collusion, impersonation, fabricated evidence and other forms of academic malpractice. Awarding-Body Compliance

- Understand and apply the requirements of the UK awarding organisations with which the centre works.
- Maintain current knowledge of qualification specifications, assessment guidance, policies and regulatory updates.
- Communicate professionally with awarding-body representatives, external quality assurers and stakeholders when authorised.
- Coordinate responses to awarding-body requests, actions and recommendations.
- Prepare documentation for external quality assurance monitoring and compliance meetings.
- Record, assign, monitor and complete awarding-body actions within required deadlines.
- Escalate serious compliance, authenticity or assessment concerns immediately to the Centre Head.
- Support investigations into complaints, appeals, malpractice and maladministration where required.

Course and Curriculum Development

- Research suitable UK-regulated qualifications and awarding organisations.
- Review specifications, guided learning hours, total qualification time, assessment methods and centre requirements.
- Help management evaluate whether new qualifications are commercially and operationally suitable.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, course calendars and learner-support materials.
- Review existing courses and recommend improvements to delivery, assessment and quality assurance.
- Keep course materials accurate, current and aligned with qualification requirements.

Documentation and Record Management

- Maintain organised, confidential and audit-ready electronic records.
- Check learner registration, induction, assessment, attendance, placement and certification documentation.
- Monitor practical-placement records, witness testimonies, observations and workplace evidence.
- Ensure documents are appropriately named, dated, signed and stored.
- Maintain trackers for learner progress, sampling, assessor performance, standardisation, complaints, appeals and awarding-body actions.
- Produce weekly and monthly quality reports for senior management.
- Handle learner and organisational information in accordance with UK data-protection requirements.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor's or master's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, English, Social Sciences or another relevant discipline.
- At least three years' experience in teaching, academic coordination, assessment, curriculum development or education quality assurance.
- Strong experience reviewing assignments, assessment decisions or academic portfolios.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong report-writing and proofreading skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies in complex documentation.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel,



Google Workspace and online learning-management systems.
- Ability to interpret qualification specifications, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and follow matters through to completion.
- High professional integrity and a clear understanding of academic honesty.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

- Master's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience with UK vocational qualifications, colleges, awarding organisations or training providers.
- Knowledge of Ofqual-regulated qualifications and UK assessment practices.
- An assessor qualification such as CAVA, A1, D32 or D33.
- An internal quality assurance qualification such as Level 4 IQA, V1 or D34.
- Experience in Early Years, Functional Skills, Health and Social Care or vocational education.
- Experience preparing for external quality assurance or regulatory audits.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, plagiarism prevention, reasonable adjustments and special consideration.
- Experience delivering assessor training or standardisation sessions.

Candidates without a UK assessor or IQA qualification may still apply if they have a strong education and quality-assurance background and are willing to complete the relevant UK qualification.

- Assessors receive regular monitoring, feedback and standardisation.
- Senior management receives clear weekly reports on quality, risks and outstanding actions.

Working Arrangements This is an India-based remote position supporting a UK organisation. The successful candidate must have:

- A reliable computer and high-speed internet connection.
- A quiet and skilled working environment.
- Availability for online meetings during agreed UK working hours, including occasional evening meetings in India due to the UK-India time difference.
- The ability to work securely with confidential learner and organisational information.
