Role Overview

Khaitan India Ltd. is seeking a high-performing, seasoned Area Sales Manager (ASM) to take charge of market expansion, revenue growth, and channel management across the high-potential belt of Howrah, Hooghly, and East/West Medinipur.

Mandatory Requirement: This position is strictly open to sales leaders with 14–16 years of core experience in Ceiling Fans, Home Appliances, and LED Lighting. Candidates must carry an established distributor/dealer network and deep domain familiarity within these specific product lines.

The incumbent will lead primary and secondary sales operations, drive retailer beat discipline, onboard high-performing distributors, and aggressively scale counter-share across both urban hubs and semi-urban/rural clusters.

Key Responsibilities

- Target & Revenue Achievement: Plan and drive territory sales strategies to consistently meet and surpass monthly, quarterly, and annual targets (value and volume) across fans, small domestic appliances, and LED lighting.
- Distribution Footprint Expansion: Scout, appoint, and manage distributors, wholesalers, and retail counters across major nodes (Howrah, Bally, Serampore, Chinsurah, Tarakeswar, Kharagpur, Midnapore town, Haldia, Contai, etc.).
- Secondary Sales & Beat Governance: Enforce strict Permanent Journey Plans (PJP)



and market-visit discipline among field sales executives/officers to maximize counter extraction and ensure high stock turnover.
- Commercial Hygiene & Credit Control: Oversee timely collection of outstanding dues, monitor distributor credit lines, ensure account reconciliations, and maintain sustainable distributor ROI.
- Trade Engagement & Visibility: Execute aggressive trade schemes, seasonal booking offers, retail display branding, and local electrician/retailer meets to dominate counter space.
- Depot & Logistics Coordination: Coordinate closely with the central depot and logistics teams to forecast SKU-level demand accurately and ensure uninterrupted product supply.
- Market Insights: Track competitor pricing, margin changes, dealer schemes, and emerging market trends across local electrical and hardware belts, providing real-time intelligence to leadership.

Candidate Profile

- Core Category Background: 14–16 years of core channel sales experience strictly in Ceiling Fans, Home Appliances, or LED Lighting. Applications from outside these domains will not be considered.
- Territory Mastery: Strong, active trade relationships with electrical, lighting, and appliance distributors/dealers across Howrah, Hooghly, and Medinipur.
- Commercial Expertise: Solid understanding of dealer margins, trade scheme ROI, working capital management, and credit governance.
- People Management: Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and extract peak performance from on-ground sales officers and field reps.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Bengali is essential; good working proficiency in Hindi and English is required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; an MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing is preferred.
