Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Data Architect & Engineer to design and develop the data infrastructure and pipelines supporting a financial reporting system.

This role will work closely with the Director of Finance to understand reporting requirements, translate financial data needs into scalable data solutions, and establish reliable data models and pipelines.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on Snowflake experience and be capable of independently guiding decisions related to data architecture, infrastructure design, data modelling, transformation, and pipeline development.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for financial reporting and analytics.
- Provide guidance on Snowflake infrastructure, architecture, performance, and cost optimisation.
- Design and implement data models that support accurate and efficient financial reporting.
- Build and manage data ingestion workflows using Fivetran or similar data extraction tools.
- Develop and maintain data transformation workflows using dbt or a comparable transformation framework.
- Integrate data from financial, operational, and third-party systems into Snowflake.
- Work directly with the Finance team to understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
- Establish data quality checks, validation processes, monitoring, and reconciliation controls.
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures, data inconsistencies, and performance issues.
- Document data architecture, models, pipelines, dependencies, and operating procedures.

Required (must-have) Skills and Experience





- Solid hands-on 8+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions using Snowflake.
- Demonstrated experience with Snowflake architecture, schemas, warehouses, security, performance tuning, and cost management.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, relational modelling, and data warehouse design principles.
- Experience building production-grade ETL or ELT pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran or a similar data extraction and ingestion platform.
- Experience using dbt or a similar data transformation framework.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience implementing data quality, testing, monitoring, and reconciliation processes.
- Ability to understand business and financial reporting requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, self-manage priorities, and take ownership of deliverables.

Preferred (good-to-have)

- Experience working with financial reporting, accounting, forecasting, or financial planning data.
- Experience with payment systems and SaaS subscription data a big plus.
- Experience with dbt testing, documentation, lineage, and deployment practices.
- Knowledge of data governance, access controls, auditability, and regulatory considerations.
- Experience implementing CI/CD practices for data pipelines and analytics engineering.
