Software Asset Manager SAM

Description The role is responsible for designing developing and overseeing the comprehensive IT Asset Management process collaborating with various teams to implement and optimize Software Asset Management procedures They ensure the effectiveness of the ITAM lifecycle provide thought leadership and maintain adherence to organizational standards while engaging in continuous improvement initiatives

Key Role

Responsibilities

Software Inventory Management Maintain an accurate inventory of all software assets including licenses versions and installations

License Compliance Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and manage renewals and audits

Procurement Support Assist in the procurement of software liaising with Finance team for the Invoicing Billing and maintenance of agreements in the designated repositories

Usage Monitoring Monitor software usage to identify underutilized licenses and opportunities for cost savings

Policy Development Develop and enforce software asset management policies and procedures

Reporting Generate regular reports on software usage compliance and cost savings

Vendor Management Maintain relationships with software vendors and manage contracts and agreements

Training and Support Provide training and support to staff on software asset management best practices





Responsible for managing and optimizing the companys software assets ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and supporting costeffective software procurement and usage

Experience with cloudbased software and licensing models

Required

Candidate Profile Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working as ITAM Process Manager managing License lifecycle operations

Should possess HAM SAM process implementation experience

Should possess good understanding of ITIL 4 practices and service value system

Should have strong verbal written communication and interpersonal skills

Lead role while acting as a liaison with internalexternal customers

Required Strong understanding of software licensing and Optimization and saving opportunities

Excellent organizational and analytical skills

Proficiency in SAM tools and software

Robust negotiation and vendor management skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Certifications Certification in Software Asset Management eg CSAM

ITIL4 Foundation
