About the RolePresto Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and technically proficient Technical Manager – Solar to lead and manage solar photovoltaic (PV) testing, technical evaluation, laboratory activities, and customer technical requirements.
The candidate will be primarily responsible for technical activities related to crystalline silicon terrestrial photovoltaic modules, with strong knowledge of IS 14286, IS/IEC 61730-1 and IS/IEC 61730-2 and associated testing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage technical activities related to Solar PV module testing and evaluation.
- Develop a strong understanding of applicable Indian and IEC standards for photovoltaic modules.
- Ensure testing activities are carried out in accordance with:
- IS 14286 – Crystalline silicon terrestrial photovoltaic (PV) modules
- IS/IEC 61730-1 – Photovoltaic module safety qualification – Part 1: Requirements for construction
- IS/IEC 61730-2 – Photovoltaic module safety qualification – Part 2: Requirements for testing
- Review customer requirements, technical specifications, test plans, and applicable standards.
- Prepare and review test procedures, test plans, technical reports, and test observations.
- Coordinate with laboratory teams for execution of solar PV module tests.
- Review test results and identify deviations, failures, and technical non-conformities.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and laboratory personnel.
- Support method development, validation, verification, and implementation of solar PV testing procedures.
- Maintain proper technical documentation and ensure traceability of test results.
- Support laboratory compliance with applicable quality and accreditation requirements, including ISO/IEC 17025.
- Coordinate with customers regarding technical clarifications, test requirements, sample requirements, and test schedules.
- Investigate testing issues and provide appropriate technical solutions.
- Participate in internal audits, customer audits, accreditation assessments, and technical evaluations.
- Keep the laboratory updated with changes and revisions in applicable BIS/IEC standards and solar PV testing requirements.
- Support development of new testing capabilities and expansion of the Solar PV testing laboratory.
- Train and mentor technical staff on solar PV testing procedures, standards, safety requirements, and equipment operation.

Testing & EvaluationKnowledge of relevant PV module testing such as:
- Visual inspection
- Electrical performance / I-V characteristics
- Insulation and dielectric tests
- Wet leakage current / wet insulation testing
- Mechanical load testing
- Hail impact testing
- Temperature cycling
- Humidity-freeze

Quality & Laboratory Responsibilities
- Ensure testing is performed as per approved procedures and applicable standards.
- Maintain accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and traceability of test results.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory technical records and equipment records.
- Participate in calibration, verification, and preventive maintenance activities for testing equipment.
- Ensure proper handling and identification of test samples.
- Support implementation and continual improvement of laboratory procedures under ISO/IEC 17025.
- Identify technical risks and implement corrective/preventive actions where required.
Candidate ProfileEducation:
- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related engineering field.
Experience:
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in Solar PV testing, module manufacturing, certification, inspection, testing laboratories, or a related technical function.
- Experience in a solar PV testing laboratory will be highly preferred.
Must-Have Skills:
- Solid knowledge of IS 14286
- Strong knowledge of IS/IEC 61730-1
- Solid knowledge of IS/IEC 61730-2
- Practical understanding of solar PV module testing
- Ability to interpret technical standards and testing requirements
- Technical report preparation and review

- Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory
