We are looking for a highly motivated Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to join my research team at P. D. Patel Institute of Applied Sciences, CHARUSAT, and contribute to an exciting research programme in functional and translational autophagy research.

? Research Project

“Development of a Stable Isogenic Cell-based Platform for Functional and Translational Autophagy Research in Health and Disease” funded by Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission, Govt. of Gujarat.

This project goes beyond routine experimentation. The aim is to establish a stable, well-characterized isogenic cell-based platform to investigate autophagy-related mechanisms and their relevance to health and disease, including neurodegenerative disorders, with the broader goal of enabling target identification, therapeutic screening, and drug discovery.

The JRF will be involved in a multidisciplinary research environment encompassing:

? Mammalian cell culture and cellular assays

? Molecular biology and cloning

✂️ CRISPR-based genome editing

? Cellular and functional characterization

? Basic bioinformatics and data analysis

? Experimental design, interpretation and scientific communication The project also provides an opportunity to work in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, offering valuable exposure to collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

? Eligibility: M.Sc./M.Tech. or equivalent in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or allied areas of Life Sciences, with minimum 55% marks/equivalent grade.

⭐ Candidates with CSIR-UGC-NET, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, GATE or other national-level qualifications, as well as relevant experience in cell culture, molecular biology, cloning, CRISPR genome editing, bioinformatics or scientific writing, will be preferred.

? Fellowship: Up to ₹36,000/month (inclusive of HRA), as per applicable guidelines
