About AKIRA

AKIRA is a Japanese ramen bar in Safuipara, South Kolkata. Sixteen seats, six tables, open since July 2026, dine-in only. We make our own noodles and simmer our broth for twelve hours. We are small, we are growing fast, and everyone here does more than their job title.

The role

We are hiring one person for our core team, starting on the service floor. You will run the room: guests, front of house, the till, the pace of a full house, and the small problems nobody sees. You will be trained on all of it.

This is a three month paid internship. It is a real path into the business, not a temporary pair of hands.

What you will do

Look after guests from the door to the bill, and make people want to come back

Run the floor during service and keep the pace under pressure

Handle the POS, daily reports and basic record keeping

Work with the kitchen so the room and the line stay in step

Pick up whatever the shift needs, because a sixteen seat restaurant has no spare people

What we are looking for

Genuinely good with people, and warm without being fake about it

Comfortable speaking English with guests





Able to use a computer, a billing system and a spreadsheet, or willing to learn quickly

Bold enough to say the thing, and to take direction

Resilient. This is the one that matters most

No prior restaurant experience required. We will train you

Be clear about this before you apply

This job is physically hard. You are on your feet for the whole shift. It gets loud and it gets fast, and it does not slow down because you are new. If that is not what you want, we would both rather find out now.

Terms

Stipend: ₹7,000 per month

Duration: 3 months

Hours: 3:30 PM to midnight, until end of service

Days: 6 days a week

Start date: Monday, 14 September 2026

Location: On-site, Safuipara, South Kolkata

Where it leads

After three months, depending on what you can take on, this becomes one of three roles: permanent service staff, store level manager, or core team operations. Compensation for the permanent role is discussed at that point, based on which one you grow into.
