About the role

We are looking for a freelance 3D animator to build one short, forward-looking vision video for Company.

This is an execution role, not a concept role. We own the story and the script. What we need is someone who can take a narrative we hand them and render it as a piece of cinematic 3D animation that makes a viewer understand what this company is building toward.

The touchstone is the "roadmap video" format used by Cosmic Robotics: a compressed, future-facing vision piece that shows where the technology goes, rather than explaining how today’s product works. Link to video

The Deliverable

One 15 to 20 second 3D animated vision video. Forward-looking and cinematic. It shows Company’s technology and its trajectory as a vision of the future, not as a product demo, an explainer, or a documentary.

We provide the script, the narrative direction, the technical reference material (deck, process diagrams, system renders), and feedback across revisions. You provide the animation.

Required Skills

- Demonstrated portfolio of futuristic, vision-style, or concept-film 3D animation. This is the single most significant requirement. We are looking specifically for work in that register, not general motion graphics.
- Professional command of a 3D animation pipeline: modeling, lighting, materials, camera work, simulation where relevant, and rendering through to a finished, color-graded delivery. Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Maya, Unreal Engine, or equivalent.



We care about the output, not the software.
- Ability to work from a written script and direction supplied by us, and to translate abstract or technical subject matter into something visually legible.
- Experience delivering a short-form piece end to end as a contractor, on an agreed timeline, with revision rounds.
- Portfolio links we can open and watch. Reel, Vimeo, YouTube, Behance, ArtStation, personal site, or LinkedIn.

Preferred

1.Work in industrial, energy, hardware, robotics, aerospace, or deep-tech subject matter.

- Comfort with AI-assisted generation as part of the pipeline, where it raises quality or speed without making the output look generic.
- Sound design, or a sound designer you work with.
- Ability to work from CAD or engineering geometry.

Not in Scope

- You do not need to write the narrative or the script. We own that. If you happen to be strong at story as well, tell us, but we are hiring for the animation.
- This is not an ongoing content or social media role. It is one defined deliverable. If it goes well we would happily come back to you for further work, but nothing here is a retainer or a promise of volume.
- Not live action, not videography, not a talking-head or documentary piece.

- Rate: TBD. Tell us your quote for the scope above, either as a fixed project fee or a day rate with an estimated day count below.
- Timeline and revision rounds: TBD, to be agreed before we start.
- Remote. Contract, on a per-project basis.
