We are seeking a highly specialized Commingling Technology Consultant to guide the development and optimization of our next-generation hybrid thermoplastic composite yarns.

In this role, you will provide strategic technical expertise to our R&D; team, helping to refine our fiber-blending processes (carbon/glass/aramid with thermoplastic matrices), improve microstructure uniformity, and accelerate our transition from lab-scale prototyping to commercial manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Optimization: Evaluate and refine our pneumatic (air-jet)



or mechanical commingling setups to improve fiber distribution and reduce filament damage.
2. Material Characterization: Advise on testing protocols to evaluate the wetting quality, void content, and mechanical properties of consolidated commingled composites.
3. Consolidation Guidance: Provide technical recommendations for downstream processing parameters (thermoforming, pressing, or winding) to achieve rapid, defect-free parts.
4. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues related to fiber static, matrix distribution, and poor drapeability in complex geometries.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Textile Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a strictly related field.
2. Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience specifically in fiber commingling, hybrid yarn development, or thermoplastic composite manufacturing.
3. Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of the interaction between high-performance reinforcing fibers (carbon, glass, basalt) and thermoplastic resins (PEEK, PEKK, Nylon, PP).
4. Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with industrial air-jet texturing, commingling machinery, and composite consolidation equipment.
