Job Overview: The Golf Course Assistant/Superintendent in Training is responsible for assisting with the management and maintenance of all aspects of the golf course, including turf care, landscape design, equipment operation, and staff supervision. The Golf Course Assistant/ Superintendent in Training plays a key role in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a golf course. Under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant/Superintendent in Training helps ensure the golf course is well-maintained, provides a high-quality experience for golfers, and promotes environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the management of turf health by performing routine inspections and implementing appropriate turf care techniques (e.g., mowing, fertilizing, aerating, watering, and pest control).
Monitor soil health and make necessary adjustments to improve turf quality.
Oversee the proper use of fertilizers, pesticides,



and herbicides in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
Supervise, train, and evaluate grounds crew members to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. o Assist in scheduling and delegating daily maintenance tasks.
Ensure staff complies with all safety and operational procedures.
Assist in maintaining and repairing golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, carts, and irrigation systems.
Ensure that all equipment is in valuable working order and ready for daily use.
Participate in the maintenance and aesthetic upkeep of the golf course, including tee boxes, fairways, greens, bunkers, and roughs.
Monitor irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of turf and landscape areas.
Assist in scheduling and adjusting irrigation systems as needed to optimize water usage and promote turf health.
