nTitle: HCX Migration Engineer
nLocation: Pune / Bengaluru (Onsite Setup)
nEmployment Type: 3 months Contract
nAbout the Role
nYou will join the Barclays Migration Factory as a replacement for an existing team member and will be responsible for delivering workload migrations using VMware HCX. The role is heavily hands-on, focused on planning and executing HCX-based migrations at scale.
nResponsibilities

Execute HCX-powered workload migrations (P2V and V2V) across source and target settings, ensuring minimal downtime and risk.n
Use VMware HCX and other migration tools (e.g., PlateSpin, DoubleTake/Carbonite) to migrate workloads from physical and virtual platforms.n
Perform application and infrastructure dependency mapping for migration planning and sequencing.n
Work with infrastructure, network, and application teams to schedule and deliver migrations under the Migration Factory framework.n
Troubleshoot migration failures and performance issues, implementing corrective actions quickly.n
Maintain detailed migration runbooks, plans,



and post-migration documentation for each waven
Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and Barclays standards during all migration activities.n

nRequired Skills & Experience
n
n
5–8 years of experience with VMware platforms, including significant migration project exposure.n
Robust, hands-on HCX migration experience in enterprise environments (must-have).n
Demonstrated experience with P2V/V2V migrations on VMware and Hyper-V using enterprise tools.n
Valuable understanding of application dependency mapping and cutover planning.n
Solid troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, and network during migrations.n

nNice to Have

Experience working in migration factories or large transformation programs, ideally in financial services.n
Familiarity with NSX and network virtualization to support migration-related network changes.n
