Job DescriptionRole Purpose NTo lead Process Engineering and Equipment Maintenance across SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and FATP (Final Assembly, Test & Pack) operations. The role focuses on ensuring process adherence, equipment reliability, high productivity, and continuous improvement in a high-volume EMS manufacturing environment. NKey Responsibilitiesn1. SMT Process Engineering Nn Define, implement, and optimize SMT processes (solder paste printing, pick & place, reflow, AOI) N Drive first-pass yield improvement, defect reduction, and process capability N Implement SPC, PFMEA, DOE for process control and improvement N Ensure line balancing, cycle time optimization, and capacity planning N Lead troubleshooting ofSMT defects (tombstoning, bridging, solder issues, etc.) Nn2. FATP OperationsManagement Nn Oversee Final Assembly, Testing & Packaging operations N Ensure smooth integration of PCBs into final products N Drive functional testing, calibration, burn-in, and quality validation N Improve assembly efficiency, reduce rework, and enhance product reliability N Ensure adherence to customer specifications and compliance standards Nn3. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability Nn Ensure high uptime of SMT lines and FATP equipment N Implement Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PM/PDM) systems N Manage installation, commissioning, and upgrades of machines N Collaborate with OEMs/vendors for troubleshooting and enhancements N Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards Nn4. New Product Introduction (NPI) Nn Lead engineering readiness for new product launches N Drive process validation, pilot runs, and line qualification N Work closely with design, quality, and production teams for smooth ramp-up Nn5. Cross-Functional Collaboration Nn Partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain,
and R&D; N Drive adherence to defined processes and quality standards N Influence stakeholders for productivity and process improvements Nn6. Team Leadership& Development Nn Lead and mentor SMT and FATP engineering teams N Build technical capability in advanced manufacturing & automation N Drive performance management and skill development initiatives Nn7. Data-Driven Improvement Nn Monitor KPIs using data analytics and ERP systems (SAP preferred) N Analyze yield, downtime, defects, and throughput N Present insights and action plans to senior leadership Nn8. Documentation &Compliance; Nn Maintain SOPs, work instructions, and engineering change management N Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, TPM standards Nn9. Cost & Efficiency Optimization Nn Drive cost reduction through process improvements and waste elimination N Improve cycle time, OEE, and overall productivity N Manage engineering budgets and resource allocation NnQualificationsn N B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics N Master's in Engineering/ Operations Management (preferred) NnExperiencen N 15–20 yearsn Mandatory hands-on experience in SMT & FATP operations N Exposure to high-volume, automated manufacturing environments NnSkills & Competencies Nn Strong expertise in SMT processes & FATP operations N Knowledge of automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 practices N Hands-on with SPC, PFMEA, DOE, root cause analysis tools N Robust problem-solving and analytical skills N ERP knowledge (SAP preferred) N Leadership, stakeholdermanagement, and communication skills NnCertifications (Preferred) Nn Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) N TPM Certificationn ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 NnKey Performance Indicators (KPIs) Nn SMT & FATP equipment uptime (OEE) N First Pass Yield (FPY) & defect reduction N Cycle time and throughput improvement N NPI success and ramp-upefficiency N Compliance & audit performance N Team productivity and retention NnNotenn Role excludes Industrial Engineering N Strong preference for candidates with end-to-end EMS exposure (SMT to FATP) N
