Job role : Chief Executive Officer - Need only from Fire & Safety Department
Location : Mumbai/ Vikhroli West
Duration : Fulltime
Principal Responsibilities
1. Business Growth and Strategy
- Develop and implement a detailed three-year strategy to achieve ₹500 crore revenue.
- Create annual, quarterly and monthly revenue, order-book, profitability and cash-flow targets.
- Reduce excessive dependence on government and PSU business by developing strong private-sector, B2B and export businesses.
- Identify new products, technologies, partnerships, joint ventures and acquisition opportunities.
- Build a balanced portfolio of products, projects, systems, services and recurring revenue.
2. Private-Sector and B2B Expansion
Build dedicated sector-focused businesses for:
- Data centres and digital infrastructure
- Semiconductor and electronics manufacturing facilities
- Solar power and renewable-energy projects
- Battery-energy storage and EV facilities
- Steel, cement, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and general industries
- Warehouses, logistics parks and commercial developments
- Airports, metros, railways, tunnels and major infrastructure projects
- Hospitals, hotels and institutional facilities
Develop relationships with corporate end users, consultants, architects, PMC firms, EPC contractors, MEP consultants, system integrators and strategic partners.
3. Government, Defence and Oil & Gas Business
- Strengthen Vimal's established position in government, defence, refineries, oil & gas and PSU markets.
- Improve tender selection, pricing discipline, order quality and collection performance.
- Develop senior-level relationships with major customers, consultants and EPC organisations.
- Build a healthy and profitable order pipeline rather than pursuing revenue without adequate margins or payment security.
4. International Business and Exports
- Develop a structured export-growth strategy for the GCC, Africa, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and other suitable markets.
- Establish regional distributors, agents, EPC relationships and key-account partnerships.
- Build direct relationships with major oil companies, utilities, industrial groups and infrastructure developers.
- Assess the need for overseas offices, local assembly, joint ventures or manufacturing partnerships.
- Leverage the company's international product approvals and project references to secure larger global opportunities.
5. IMSAFE Business Development
- Develop IMSAFE as an independently managed growth vertical.
- Create suitable distribution, dealership, institutional, corporate, automobile and digital-sales channels.
- Establish separate leadership, branding, sales targets and performance metrics for the IMSAFE business.
- Build partnerships with hospitals, hotels, schools, housing societies, commercial establishments and corporate groups.
6. Organisation Building and Professionalisation
Recruit, develop and manage a skilled leadership team, including:
- Head – Domestic Private-Sector Sales
- Head – Government,
PSU and Defence Business
- Head – International Business and Exports
- Head – Projects and Engineering
- Head – Manufacturing and Supply Chain
- Chief Technology Officer/Head of Product & New Product Development
- Chief Human Resources Officer/HR Head
- Head – IMSAFE Business
Define clear authority, accountability, KPIs and reporting relationships for professional executives as well as promoter-family directors working within the business.
Create a performance-driven culture based on merit, transparency, integrity, teamwork and measurable results.
7. P&L;, Cash Flow and Commercial Governance
- Assume complete responsibility for revenue, EBITDA, cash flow and return on capital.
- Achieve a minimum EBITDA margin of 15% by the end of the third year.
- Improve gross margins through pricing, product mix, value engineering and procurement efficiencies.
- Reduce receivable days, unbilled revenue, project overruns and slow-moving inventory.
- Strengthen budgeting, management reporting, project costing and commercial controls.
- Ensure that revenue growth does not come at the cost of profitability or excessive working-capital exposure.
8. Operations and Project Execution
- Improve on-time delivery, project execution, installation and commissioning.
- Strengthen coordination between sales, design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality and site teams.
- Establish project-review and risk-management systems.
- Improve capacity utilisation, productivity, quality and delivery reliability at the manufacturing facility.
- Build a scalable supply chain capable of supporting ₹500 crore revenue.
9. Technology and Product Development
- Prepare a technology and product-development roadmap aligned with emerging fire and life-safety risks.
- Strengthen the company's international approvals, testing, certifications and intellectual property.
- Develop specialised solutions for data centres, energy storage, semiconductors, renewable energy and high-risk industrial applications.
- Introduce digital monitoring, remote operation, predictive maintenance and technology-enabled service offerings wherever commercially suitable.
10. Governance and Board Reporting
- Work closely with the Founder-Chairman and Board while operating with clearly delegated executive authority.
- Present monthly performance reports covering orders, revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, collections, project execution and organisational development.
- Establish strong corporate governance, compliance and risk-management practices.
- Develop a professional succession and leadership-development programme.
- Represent Vimal Fire Controls before customers, partners, regulators and industry bodies.
Candidate Profile
The preferred candidate should possess:
- Approximately 20–30 years of professional experience.
- At least 5–10 years in a CEO, Managing Director, Business Head, Country Head or senior P&L; leadership position.
- Proven responsibility for a business of approximately ₹500 crore or more.
- Demonstrated success in scaling an organisation, developing new markets and building leadership teams.
- Strong experience in B2B private-sector sales, key accounts and solution-based selling.
- Experience in fire protection, building technologies, industrial safety, electrical systems, automation, engineered equipment, EPC projects or related sectors.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and project execution.
- Exposure to international business, preferably including GCC, Africa or other export markets.
- Strong understanding of profitability, cash flow and commercial risk.
- Experience professionalising a promoter-led or family-managed organisation would be highly valuable.
- Engineering qualification preferred; an MBA or equivalent management qualification would be an advantage.
Authority and Accountability
The CEO will be provided clearly defined authority to manage the company and deliver the agreed business plan, including:
- Recruitment and performance management of senior executives
- Allocation of budgets and organisational resources
- Implementation of sales, operational and commercial policies
- Recommendation of capital expenditure and strategic investments
- Restructuring of functions and reporting relationships, with Board approval where required
The CEO will remain fully accountable to the Board for revenue, profitability, cash flow, governance, organisational performance and execution of the approved strategy.
Compensation
The compensation package will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate's experience and demonstrated capabilities.
It will include:
- Fixed annual compensation
- Performance-linked annual incentive
- Long-term incentive linked to achievement of the three-year revenue, EBITDA and cash-flow targets
- Suitable benefits and allowances
The performance incentive will reward profitable growth and cash generation—not revenue growth alone.
Candidate Evaluation Process
Shortlisted candidates will be expected to submit and present a three-year strategic plan covering:
- Growth from ₹110 crore to ₹500 crore
- Sector-wise and geography-wise revenue strategy
- Organisation and recruitment plan
- Investment and working-capital requirements
- EBITDA improvement plan
- Private-sector and export-development strategy
- First 100-day priorities
