About the Role

Office Beacon is looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to support cloud infrastructure, application deployments, automation, monitoring, and day-to-day infrastructure operations.

This is an entry-level engineering chance for candidates with 0–2 years of relevant experience who have foundational knowledge of Linux, Docker, scripting, Git, and cloud infrastructure.

You will work alongside senior engineers and gain practical experience supporting AWS environments, containerized applications, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and deployment workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Support

- Assist with deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Support cloud resources and environments under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist with basic networking tasks involving DNS, security groups, and load balancers.
- Monitor cloud resource utilization and help identify potential optimization opportunities.

Docker & Containerization

- Build and run containerized applications using Docker.
- Create and modify basic Dockerfiles and container configurations.
- Troubleshoot basic container-related issues.

Kubernetes

- Assist with basic Kubernetes operations under senior engineer guidance.
- Work with Kubernetes resources such as Pods, Deployments, Services, Namespaces, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
- Support troubleshooting of basic Kubernetes deployment issues.

CI/CD & Automation

- Support existing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and/or GitHub Actions.
- Write and improve basic automation scripts using Bash and/or Python.
- Assist with deployment automation and repetitive operational tasks.

Application & Server Support

- Assist with deploying and supporting web applications and services.
- Work with application environments involving PHP/Laravel, Node.js, Python-based frameworks, React.js, or Next.js.
- Support basic web server configuration using Nginx or Apache.





Database & Infrastructure Support

- Assist with routine operational tasks involving PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Support basic database-related infrastructure and application troubleshooting.

Monitoring & Observability

- Assist with infrastructure and application monitoring.
- Maintain monitoring dashboards using Grafana and Prometheus.
- Help identify and document infrastructure or application issues.

Documentation & Operational Support

- Maintain deployment documentation, technical notes, and operational runbooks.
- Document configuration changes and troubleshooting procedures.
- Follow established infrastructure, security, and operational practices.

Must-Have Qualifications
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of Linux systems and command-line operations.
- Hands-on familiarity with Docker and container fundamentals.
- Basic scripting experience with Bash and/or Python.
- Familiarity with Git and version control.
- Exposure to at least one cloud platform, preferably AWS.
- Basic understanding of software deployment and infrastructure concepts.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read technical documentation and follow established procedures.
- Strong willingness to learn cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and automation technologies.

Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Kubernetes and resources such as Pods, Deployments, Services, Namespaces, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
- Experience with Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with Nginx or Apache.
- Exposure to Grafana and Prometheus.
- Familiarity with PHP/Laravel, Node.js, Python-based applications, React.js, or Next.js.
- Exposure to PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
- Familiarity with cloud deployment and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of infrastructure security and access-control practices.
