Senior Guidewire Engineer (Policy Center & Billing Center)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Guidewire Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in both Policy Center and Billing Center. This individual will play a critical role in designing, configuring, and integrating Guidewire solutions that support enterprise insurance operations.
The ideal candidate has deep configuration and integration experience, strong Java fundamentals, and a disciplined approach to engineering, including Test-Driven Development (TDD).
Key Responsibilities
Guidewire Development & Configuration
1. Design and implement solutions in Policy Center and Billing Center
2. Perform configuration work including:
- Product Model changes
- PCF/UI enhancements
- Business Rules
- Workflows
- Batch processes
1. Customize and extend Guidewire applications using Gosu
Integration Development
1. Build and maintain integrations using:
- Guidewire Integration Framework
- REST and SOAP services
- Messaging systems (where applicable)
1. Develop and maintain backend services using Java
2. Ensure secure and scalable integration patterns
Engineering Best Practices
- Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
- Maintain robust unit test coverage
- Participate in peer code reviews
- Follow clean code and OOP design principles
- Support production troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA, and Dev Ops teams
- Translate business requirements into technical design
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical planning
- Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies
Required Qualifications
1. 5+ years of hands-on Guidewire development experience
2. Strong experience in both:
- Policy Center
- Billing Center
1. Active Guidewire Certifications:
- Policy Center (Associate or ACE preferred)
- Billing Center (Associate or ACE preferred)
1. Experience developing and consuming REST APIs
2. Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit or similar)
3. Experience working in Agile environments
